Hope that's the case. Just worried a bit because he did score a ton in his lone innings.I think the message is 'good work Sos, stay sharp if we need a fill in in the top 5'.
Fair enough too. Rogers has done enough to deserve to play his last five tests, and barring an abysmal game against Essex Voges' form demands a spot.
Or if we lose a match. If we lose a match or two he might get dropped.Yeah I agree. Barring injury he'll play all 5 and they'll be his last 5.
Better than Wade, which is good enough for me.How good is Nevill behind the stumps?
would Ian last till smitteh comes on?I'm really excited to see whether Smitty's bowling continues to troll Ian Bell.
Comparable to Haddin?Better than Wade, which is good enough for me.
Hard to say. Haddin's keeping has been super weird for a couple years now. He takes unbelievable catches that no one else would ever even get close to, then misses regulation stumpings that a blind 95 year old would easily make.Comparable to Haddin?
More reliable, very clean and neat. Stays on his feet a lot more than diving. Be interesting to see how he'd deal with the Duke swinging after it goes past the batsman though.Comparable to Haddin?
His keeping is better than his batting IMO. The fact that he's kept well in Sheffield Shield cricket was something pretty much everyone expected, but that he's batted so well has been more of a surprise. MacGill for example has long stated that he's actually the best gloveman in the country, and while I'm no wicket keeping expert I've watched him keep a fair bit for NSW and haven't seen anything to make me disagree. As Jack says, always looks very neat. How good is Nevill behind the stumps?
Indicative of poor/failing technique; sometimes those catches are genuinely unbelievable, but quite often (speaking more generally here) a lot of the great-for-tv diving catches shouldn't require dives at all.Hard to say. Nevill's more consistent, but not as brilliant
That sounds promising. Hopefully MacGill's certificate automatically implies he's a good keeper to spinners too.His keeping is better than his batting IMO. Outsiders looking in will see someone who averages 44 with the bat in First Class cricket and plays as a specialist batsman for NSW when Haddin is available and probably think "Hmm, another Wade?" but I'm actually pretty confident his keeping will be good in Test cricket. Whether he adjusts quickly to unique demands of keeping in England is another matter, as is whether he can take that sort of batting success up another level, but his glovework will be good fine overall IMO.
He's been keeping better than Wade. Not that that's hard. A test in the WI would have been useful if Rad is done when Rogers is. The selectors aren't worried I guess.Hasn't been 'keeping that well either, tbh.
Nev's straight-up a better package.
Should only have to survive 5 balls max. Get im on.would Ian last till smitteh comes on?
