I think the problem for trott is that ballance has filled his role so emphatically that it's hard to see a position in the side for him.

Not watching but wouldn't be surprised. He's one of those sidewinder crabs you see on the beach which happily keep walking sideways picking up trash as they go.

I just checked. Hales indeed averaged just an inch above 50 last season. Still quite a bit behind Lyth.
