IPL 2015 Thread

I dunno, would it have been the worst thing to send Russell up the order after such a good start?
These guys are good enough. Yadav was very good in the first game and there's also Yusuf Pathan.

You lose nothing by promoting Russell though, doesn't eat up dot balls, may get out for nothing, but if he faces 20 + balls, he can go very big. He is a mini Maxwell in that respect.

This is borderline unwatchable when unmuted. When Morrison isn't talking there's ****ty music blaring in the background. So bad.

Surya Yadav may be a T20I specialist for India. Very good strike rate since he joined KKR, so he has recent form on his side. At a position as low as 6/7, his strike rate and tendency to build partnerships is more relevant.

Pandey, on the other hand, is a T20 misfit, so his much-improved performance since he joined KKR is a big surprise. We'd rather have him playing longer games for India than playing T20Is.

Uthappa is a capable limited-overs batsman, and in a post-World Cup Indian XI, he should open the batting in ODIs and T20Is. He's been unlucky to miss out in a phase when Rohit Sharma opened for India.

It's a rough beginning for Varun Aaron, but I do hope he gets all the RCB games this season. He needs more active cricket, and is a better bet than Harshal Patel and Abu Nechim, for quick wickets.

Yuzi Chahal is a very tight leggie, and though his economy rate has shot up in the IPL, he may be India's T20I spinner, so that the Test spinners may be kept away from T20Is.

Andre Russell may be played as a specialist batsman only- this all-India top five with Shakib is very strong, and can do just fine. Maybe he can play as a batsman and one of India's better T20I bowlers replace Yusuf, but under no circumstances should he get a single over to bowl- his bowling is more miss than hit!

Shame not to see Kuldeep play today, but very much looking forward to seeing Cariappa and finding out what all the fuss is about.
Bangalore with Sammy and DK don't look as reliant on the big three as they have been in recent years, could be a very entertaining chase this.:)

Awesome from Gayle today.

Narine normally with all those runs to play with is unplayable, wasn't awful today or against Mumbai, but definitely below par since he no longer can pelt.

Williamson is a good test and ODI player but I think there were better buys out there for this format. Is Henriques in the IPL? There are a host of Aussies, South Africans, New Zelanders, Englishmen that would be more suitable for this format than Williamson, and I am not talking about just the internationals.

Williamson is a great T20 player but what he's gonna give you is a consistent 60 off 45 to set a foundation at the top, not blaze 70 off 30 once in a blue moon

Nah they got him for 100K which is an absolute bargain. He's gotta bat in the top 3 though. The other stupid thing they did is put him in the outfield. He's superb inside the ring but I've never seen him on the boundary before.

Classic lack of research.
