I see we wre playing new zealand in the semis... Good
Wasn't shami one of the highest wicket takers in Odis last year?India have been getting away with it for ages. Not talking about just this WC, because we've bowled well, just a general point.
Well in that case I apologise I got my timing all wrongHint: That post was filled to the brim with sarcasm and it was made right after he smashed it out of the cake tin
Indeed I will make a considered post at the end of the game but basically the crowd didn't want to sit down when he got the double. Then the last 35 runs were scored in God mode. It's been going since the 40th over
Nah come on mate, I can't take that seriously. Sure west Indies bowled piss at the death and NZ played brilliantly, but the bats and field restrictions help. A lot. This isn't the flattest pitch in history, this isn't due to bigger bats, this isn't due to fielding restrictions, this is just the bar being set higher and higher in cricket.
I reckon this is probably not the best time to discuss such stuff, invariably this will come across as undermining someone's innings or being a sore loser (not saying you are or I am btw).Nah come on mate, I can't take that seriously. Yea that definitely is a huge factor. But if it was a crisis situation it would've been the top innings undoubtedly I think.CWC knockout match means crisis situation from the toss onward.
Be careful what you wish for.I see we wre playing new zealand in the semis... Good
Haha yeah which is why I'm saying in every post that NZ batted brilliantly. Can never be too careful.I reckon this is probably not the best time to discuss such stuff, invariably this will come across as undermining someone's innings or being a sore loser (not saying you are or I am btw).
I think they have - consistently getting to tons as bowlers is not something you saw a decade ago.Well said by Glenn McGrath on Fox Sports. Batsmen have taken batting to a new level in recent times. It's time for bowlers to do the same.
And they helped just fine in the previous NZ game at this ground too. We've had big bats and fielding restrictions for years. The powerplay is not a new thing. Big bats are not a new thing. Sure they can play a part but where was the uproar when they first came on to the scene? Is ODI cricket being a game where 275 is the average innings a much worse game then one where it is 225?Nah come on mate, I can't take that seriously. Agreed. Something needs to be done after the world cup though.I reckon this is probably not the best time to discuss such stuff, invariably this will come across as undermining someone's innings or being a sore loser (not saying you are or I am btw).
Oh trust me, I tried really really hard not to undermine Rohit's 264 when it was scored lol.Haha yeah which is why I'm saying in every post that NZ batted brilliantly. Can never be too careful.
Again, I'm not saying the batsmen changing their mindset hasn't contributed. But a mere change in attitude isn't what's caused scoring to balloon up to crazy proportions. It's a lot of factors coming together. And bats and field restrictions are two factors which are flat out unfair to bowlers. And they helped just fine in the previous NZ game at this ground too. This isn't Test cricket. Being pleased for a bowler when he goes at under 5.5 an over isn't that much more difficult to him going under 4.0. It's a change in the mindset at home over what is "good", both sides get the benefit.
I personally believe it's the T20 game changing how the modern batsman structures their innings. Build for 30-35 launch for 15-20.Again, I'm not saying the batsmen changing their mindset hasn't contributed.
