Well I am glad I missed the end, at least I don't need to get up at stupid o clock again now to watch that shower.

Well played Bangladesh, good luck in the quarters.

What criteria do you propose?

We made quarters last time out and super 8 the one before that, so WC record would see us auto qualify if you have eight spots no?

And if you use rankings we were actually top at one point

Unless you mean next WC actually. Which we are hosting.
I propose minimum 12 teams and not having teams like Ireland and Bangladesh having to qualify.

Hopefully now someone can be appointed solely to coach the ODI side - England's trouble has always been a refusal/inability to acknowledge the three formats make totally different demands on everyone involved

SO were all Indians here supporting Bangladesh because they wanted an easier QF draw? :D I kinda wanted England to win only because of that.
Having a team outside of the top 8 in knockouts is good. Everyone has been rooting for Ireland too.

This might prove to be a break through tournament for Bangladesh. They've looked a clear step-up above all of the associate sides including Ireland and have played some thoroughly entertaining cricket. While I'm a bit harsh on them it times, I'd legitimately love it if they could consistently get up to the standards set by Zimbabwe in the late 90's. They do however need to start producing some real cricket pitches on home soil. This tournament has shown that they still look a quality side in conditions where the ball bounces above knee-height, so there really shouldn't be any excuse for the mud-heaps that have produced such soporific cricket in the last few years.

They've looked professional and disciplined, which to be honest is the main point where people have been criticising them

Very disciplined in the last two matches. Hope for their sakes it isn't a flash in the pan, they do have quite a few talented guys in this side, just need to do it more often.

As an addendum, it's probably a (decidedly minor) positive for them that it was a fast bowler who won them the match.
