He slowed down way too much when he neared his ton, was too selfish imo. It wasn't "match-winning" per-se, Rubel won them the match.
Look what happened after Mahmudullah got out.

Had that happened 5 overs earlier, Bangladesh were ****ed.

You really can't overstate the value of a century and runs on the board in a knock out match. Especially when both teams score under 300. 100 runs in that scenario is ****ing gold.

michael "no odi tons, average under 30" vaughan was a great beneficiary of ECB ODI incompetence. i'd be quiet if i were him.

the sky panel are showing why england suck. the inability of the two leading strike bowlers to take wickets is actually the biggest issue.

moeen, opener, root, taylor, buttler has the makings of a top five but no matter how much they score tthey can't win if the bowlers suck. remember the SL game where the ****ing batsmen got blamed?
Yeah this is what gets me. I don't go on board with the whole "how good you are dictates the weight of your opinion thing, at all" but during Vaughan's era everyone said the same things, while players like himself stroked at around four (considerably lower than the likes of Cook and Bell, who go at fives) doing absolutely nothing in the format.

And I still don't know why nobody is listening to me and persisting that England are just ****e in one day cricket. Biggest benefiters of the last few months are people only involved in the England test team, which is probably the most overrated team in the sport at the moment and has a big away series coming up in less than two months having not won a test away from home since 2012.

FMD Michael Vaughan is a ****.

Legit biggest wanker of the lot. Botham's just an idiot but Vaughan is a smarmy ****ing arsehole.

easy tiger, wasn't saying you did, just giving my opinion that the captain automatically gets blamed but there is often more to blame in this situation(irrespective of the team)..chill pill dude..
Actually you did; replying to my post with the comment "you can't lay in all on the captain" implies I said that. :P

And re; your tiger ref, I was hardly very ferocious in my post.

I'm not saying it wasn't gold, just that Mushy's was better, and 275 wasn't a match-winning total. Rubel won them the match and he got a 4-fer that mattered. 4-fer > 100 in terms of rarity but ODI cricket favors batsmen when giving out MoMs so not surprising I guess.

Hales
Root
Taylor
Morgan
Moeen
Buttler

that should be the top six. Moeen and Buttler interchangeable. If someone better than Morgan comes along, so be it.

That's my only suggestion for England.

England moved an Ashes series, which they lost 5-0, and played 17 consecutive ODI's before the first game of this tournament. A true sign of a side which only cares about test cricket.

I can see what you're saying mate but the figures are the figures and he was getting wickets(however he got them)
2/63 from 9 overs vs Aus
0/49 from 2 overs vs NZ
0/54 from 8 overs vs SL

These are the figures more reflective of Finn's performances this tour. That last over vs. Australia getting 3 wickets in a row doesn't change much in my eyes and his performance against Scotland while good, isn't as important as performances against the other 3 teams, obviously.

SO were all Indians here supporting Bangladesh because they wanted an easier QF draw? :D I kinda wanted England to win only because of that.

actually , yeah, I take that back it was referring to your post, my mistake but it stil reflects my view that more is wrong with the England team than just the captain..Its a personal bee in my bonnet that a good captain has to bawl and shout and I think differently. Difficult for us to see from the outside how he was in the changing room..
as for "tiger"- seemed more manly from me than "*****cat"- just sat in a really boring meeting and losing my will to live so trying to jest to avoid insanity..
p.s grrr
