My thoughts

-- Remember when England had crazy bowling depth? Well now they have two reliable bowlers.
The crazy bowling depth was always theoretical though -- Bresnan and Finn were always ok-but-not-world-beaters (Finn's period of ODI gun-ness notwithstanding), and the rest are in the similar Woakes/Jordan/James Harris bracket. Or now they're all really young, injury-prone guys who can't prove themselves yet (JOverton, Wood etc)

If one considers 280 as a good target to set, Bangladesh are almost 30% there. They should really try for 300 in the last ten if they can get that. This pitch is flat.

Poor from Woakes/Jordan. Anything over 280 hard with how badly we play spin.

I think he's more talking about the period when Broad got injured, Finn was given a "rest" and our bowling attack got better.

Oh christ its really happening isn't it, I thought I had mentally prepared for it but holy crap we're going out in the group stages. We really are.

Are England bowling to a plan against Sarkar? This is an impressive knock but it is funny how many times an unknown player suddenly comes good against them. Because they rely on the laptop in my opinion.

NB I am not saying Sarkar was unknown to people who follow Bangladesh cricket and I know he has looked good in this tournament.

Yeah good point, Bangladesh shouldn't try for too high a target and get bowled out for a lower than ideal score. Just keep batting and forget about what total they need.

Nick Knight pointing out it's the people who don't follow County Cricket that love Hales.

Do think that they should stop making Ali bowl to the leg stump though. I feel like he's a better bowler if he gets to spin to top of off-stump.
