You probably know England better than me, but in the past England odi strategy was to have some guy bat the whole innings, fireworks at the end, and defend a total through their bowling. Though granted that plan isn't as relevant these days....

He's been scoring runs all tournament tbf, and they definitely needed his runs last game. But yeah terrible shot, no feet movement at all.

Yeah, but it was also to use a test attack of five bowlers that restricted oppositions to always par, or sub par scores, and then have reliable batsman who'd chase it down 90% of the time.

Though it probably doesn't matter. Good sides aren't reliant on winning the toss to win them the game in one day games.
