***Official*** New Zealand Domestic Season 2014/15

Yeah I'm saying 2-3 years till he comes properly good. Hendrix is saying next season. No one is counting anybody out yet.
Yip fair enough. First season of improvement, and consistency accross formats from him, after a season or 2 of regression.

So coming from a lower base than a guy who looked do gun as a 17 years old should.

Tom Bruce continues to prosper since coming in for the semi-final at Pukekura Park. Good to see they are actually playing at Karori Park today. Blundell with 68 the only batsman to go past 30.

One of the Easts sides. It might be 2A, I'm not 100%. I use to play some 2B for the Vic Uni Stallions a couple years ago.
I'm with Onslow 3rds but we've had a dreadful year. No players. Defaulted this weekend, had 7 players on second day twice. I'm over it.

If you were in the Hutt I would talk you into switching teams - we are recruiting as well. It is getting harder and harder to find guys who want to play cricket.

I've got some options for next year but thanks. It certainly is getting harder, it's actually pretty ridiculous how bad it's got with us. No fun playing like this,

Why all the complaining about Karori Park? Am I missing something, wasn't the game supposed to start today?

How many domestic triples have there been...I am struggling to remember the last one
Peter Fulton is the last one I can remember.

It was meant to start yesterday, but apparently the ground wasn't fit to go:

Wellington were due to play day one of their Plunket Shield clash with Otago at the suburban Wellington City Council-run ground. But concerns over the state of the outfield, particularly the bare, sandy patches of turf in the area of the bowlers' run-ups at the city end of Karori Park, meant the game never began.

The umpires will inspect the area again this morning and decide if play can commence. However, there is a chance, although maybe only a slim one, that the game will be called off without a ball bowled.

"It's more just the grass coverage of the run-ups, rather than it being wet," Cricket Wellington (CW) commercial manager Bryan Dickinson said.

Principally the fact there's sand at the top of the surface. Parts of the outfield are shaggy by first-class standards but the worry is the sandy areas.

Bowlers from both teams, including Otago's Neil Wagner, said the uneven, shifting surface was potentially dangerous. A heavy roller was used to try and compact some of those areas, especially the run-up area at the northern end.

300 up for Brown-trou. Lock him in for England.
One good thing for him is that assuming they pick him as the back up batsman, the likes of Kane, BMac, and probably Ross won't be in the first warm up game (and maybe the second one too) as they'll be at the IPL. Actually so will Corey, Neesh, Boult, Southee, Henry, Milne.

So the games will be some kind of trial. Potential squad members who probably won't be at the IPL.

Rutherford
Latham
Brownlie
Watling
Wagner
Craig
Sodhi
Bracewell

Sheeeeeit... We're going to be thin on the ground. That's 17 names that would be considered for the test squad (probably only 15 on the tour to England).

Might be a bigger squad for the first game, and then guys that aren't used by their IPL teams may arrive for the 2nd game?

Oh right I was up in Hamilton yesterday, didn't check the news.
Actually, apparently they have now officially declared play on Sunday void, so yesterday was the first day afterall :)

If we ruin our best chance at beating England in a long time because of a lack of good preparation I'll be sad.
Hopefully we aren't too badly affected. I remember in 2008 Vettori, McCullum & Taylor all arrived late but performed well. Atherton wrote a scathing article.

Good to have McKay back. Serious bowler at this level I reckon (assuming he hasn't lost his pace). Good for the comp.

Rough for the ND bowlers to bowl 145 overs and then have to bowl again as CD follow on. Two early wickets though so shaping up to be a fascinating final day.

We're up against it but great to see Hay, Bruce and Dougeh stand up against a solid attack. Mathieson at the end too. Robinson broke his leg fielding :/

Wagner is having fun and Raval tonned up. Hira got another golden.

An interesting round so far.

Tom Bruce is having quite the start to his FC career three straight 50's for an up and commer who did not go through the NZ age group system.
