I don't think there's anything wrong with picking two spinners in Oceania if you've actually got two good ones.. I think the problem is when teams actually bank on 20 overs worth of spin. It's no so much "don't pick two spinners" but "make sure you have four decent seam-up options".. so I think they could pick that lot, stick Thisara at 7 and have a decent overall attack with lots of options.Sri Lanka have a good attack when it's fit tbh.
Malinga, Kulasekara, Mathews, Herath and Senanayake should all play imo. Yes it breaks the two spinners rule for Oceania but when you next best ODI pacemen are Perera and co...
The five above though are all quality in their roles.
Sri Lanka don't actually have another good enough batsman to bother with the attack Phlegm listed.I don't think there's anything wrong with picking two spinners in Oceania if you've actually got two good ones.. They don't have anyone else with the firepower Perera has at 7 though. I agree he's rubbish but none of the other batsmen have good enough strike rates to bat there, so you may as well just pick him and see if you can get a couple of overs out of him while you're at it.Thisara is such a wasted spot though. Can't really bat, can't really bowl. Jeevan Mendis has the same affliction often but I do like his bowling. His worst bowling though is well...
For the greater good of their side it's almost worth stacking 5-7 with Mathews, Chandimal and someone who can find the fence (not Karu) and average over 25. Then they just grit their teeth and make 30 overs of Herath, Senanayake, Mathews and Dilshan work. They do have the personnel to take that risk and pull it off because all four range between good role players and world class with the ball.
Unless they have a pace bowling allrounder hiding away who is better than Perera. That works too.

Actually I was wondering that, can teams and players just fake an injury, or do they have to do scans and show evidence of real strains/tears through technology?Ewwww
can someone do a hamstring so they can draft in some mediocre but better biffer from domestix? Is there anyone?
And if they have to prove it, can the fakers get it reviewed if they don't like the decision?Actually I was wondering that, can teams and players just fake an injury, or do they have to do scans and show evidence of real strains/tears through technology?
Sorry DRS is down indefinitelyAnd if they have to prove it, can the fakers get it reviewed if they don't like the decision?
Prinyanjan? I'd have thought Vithanage would have been an option but his List A record is worse than Spuderford's.Ewwww

Because he isn't the captain. A regular Arun Finch, he is.Thirimanne is a decent seamer...why doesn't he bowl more?
He's terrible IMO.Thirimanne is a decent seamer...why doesn't he bowl more?
He's been awful all series barring a couple of jammy wickets.Thirimanne is a decent seamer...why doesn't he bowl more?
