***Official*** India and England in Australia ODI Tri-Series 2015

Very complacent performance from us today, probably the 1st time we were heavy favourites all series and we let ourselves down, from 57-1 the way we batted I thought was unacceptable batsman were throwing their wickets away.

Credit to England for their win, we now have to win both matches, if we play as we are capable of then I still think we can make that final v Australia.

Speaking as an England fan this run India are in may be hard to get out of. We have seen us heading into world cups with months away from home on the back of a flogging in a test series and some insipid one day performances and come the tournament form and confidence is shot to pieces. India looked awful today, might be tough to pick them up and the way Dhoni spoke after the game hardly inspired confidence. Might be way off the mark but India look down at present.

Umesh is absolute garbage though, never played well in a match I've seen. Rubbish Binny can go do one as well.

On a more serious note, every time you forget how dangerous Anderson can be, he knocks you out.

And Kohli needs to get back to number 3. Enough bull****.

Turned it off by that point. What did he say? Was it excuses other than them being bad/opposition being good? If so I see not much has changed.

Said bowlers not given a chance by bats but the way he was talking about getting the balance between rest and practice already and going on about 4 and a half months away seemed like he knows the team are struggling already and we aren't anywhere near the tournament yet.

Fair enough. Just glad to hear it's not something like too much bounce or something like that.

You played well today, but 1 win today doesn't make you our bogey side, we creamed England 3-1 in the Odis last summer in a England.
True. I was adding in mickey mouse cricket into the thinking though, with us being the only side to beat you at home in yonks and all.

We're the current World Champions, how can we get too big for those boots?
Certain posters, without mentioning names, felt all India had to do to win today was get the bus on time

Perhaps the players were of the same mindset. But let's not take away from our bowlers. Wel done to them.

Yeah well done Cabinet; your parents will be proud.
I'd planned to get up for the beginning but ending up staying up and only caved in during the interval. Reckon he's right to give me credit tbh.

Poor form from the old man to wake me up pretty much as soon as the match was over though. Either do it with loads of the innings left or let me sleep.

Yeah the hint that the group games were pointless as the final was certain to be India v Australia was the thing that makes this result even sweeter. May still be a final between them but India have plenty of work to do now.

Yeah tbh I'm not even thinking much along the lines of people overrating India, more the kind of posts implying England don't deserve to be playing in this series, that it would be better to be a bilateral one, both Australia and India will be partaking in minnow bashing, etc. I realise a lot of it is tongue in cheek, but there was quite a lot of it and goes beyond the walls of CW as well like with that video Athlai posted, and it definitely makes a win much sweater.

Well you certainly played better than Kohli.

It only dawned on me earlier today that the teams with the best possible preparation for the World Cup -- ie. the teams playing this series -- just so happen to be the Big Three. Was this mentioned earlier in the thread before the matches started?
