***Official*** India and England in Australia ODI Tri-Series 2015

The problem with DRS is the ridiculous notion of "umpires call" if we are going to have it it should eliminate all bad decisions not just "howlers".
This reminds me of an expression used by surgeons, that "perfect is the enemy of the good." Sure, it would be ideal if DRS could eliminate all bad decisions, but in the meantime it should be used to help eliminate the howlers.

It's painful watching games where there are obvious errors that could have been corrected, had the technology been in place.

Maybe angry is the wrong word. I think there's a lot of dissatisfaction among many following the Ashes whitewash and KP saga though.

I kind of agree about the England side. Certainly the last three tests of the India series were awesome, but those were also the three games last year where the senior players performed best. I probably don't have the same affiliation with any of the new players, bar Woakes WAG, compared to any of the senior players though. I'm also kind of biased towards them though because they were the ones I grew up with and are responsible for most of my favourite cricketing memories, so seeing the likes of Prior, Cook and co struggling has been pretty grim.
Feel totally the same when it comes to Cook but not so much the others. I loved us being good of course and I really liked that side but Swann, Trott, Broad and Prior are never going to be up there with my favourite England players. Cook, Bell and Anderson are still around and they are probably the ones I will remember most fondly.

KP is just KP. Different case.

He was still rested though
but furball has told us he wasn't rested and his petulant behaviour was utterly down to that, so the fact he had petulant behaviour because he was rested must be wrong.

Because if your facts are right it would just make him a petulant **** either way, but that can't be right.

Interesting to see how KP polonaises opinion with England fans to the extend that he does, from my point of view as an Indian fan and a Cricket fan he is a World class player and the game is probably poorer without him.

Looking forward to the game against Australia on Sunday, shame that Jadeja is out but in Patel I believe we have the makings of a very able replacement, he impressed me a lot with bat and ball in the series against Sri Lanka and has a good head on his shoulders.

If the white ball swings as it did today, obviously Starc will be a threat up front but I feel like we have enough depth to see off the new ball the cause some mayhem later on. I expect Bhuvi to go well in this series, the guy is superb with the white ball in India and I think he will find these conditions even more to his liking.

If GIMH is referring to the Pakistan ODI series then I stand corrected, although now that I've been reminded of that I think Pietersen was "rested" (read as: dropped) from that series - he'd been utterly abysmal in the Test summer.

To be fair us Australians are more used to our team being comprised full of ****s. Most of them are our best players too.

Casual fans and other nation fans remember the good of KP. The brilliant test innings etc. That's somewhat natural.

The more serious English fans recognise that he was basically **** in ODI cricket for 5 years before his retirement. He played with little fluency and seemed to have forgot how to play the really dominant odi innings that he played at the start of his career.
He had one good series in that time against Pakistan in UAE where he piggybacked on Cook's good form.

I can see why people can say they'd prefer KP walking out at 4 instead of Root but the numbers don't really back it up.

KP himself has said he didn't like the format and they should do away it. He basically wanted to play the odd high profile odi series and then turn up for the world cup.

He tried to retire from it, he has consistently has said he finds the format boring,.

What did you think of him saying Morgan wants him in the team the other day? I thought it was awfully selfish and put Morgan in a crap position, so easy to swerve that question but the ego wouldn't allow it.

The only thing I might say about Kevin positive, 2016 the t20 world cup is in India, and that might be something he could be considered for, Few of the current lot have much experience in the IPL or international T20 and he could be useful as an anchor their. I remember Harby bowling to England in Bangladesh world cup in 2012 and it was bleak, Bairstow for one looked completely perplexed at what was happening!

It's tough but surely if we accept he's a brilliant player then even if he is a difficult character it should be the role of the management to get him in line? There have been many free spirits to play for many other teams.

If we're referring to ODI cricket as this thread is he doesn't deserve to be in the team on the basis of his form over the past 5 years.

On the basis of his performances KP didn't deserve to be dropped from T20. It was borderline for test cricket imo on performances. And he deserved to be dropped from ODI cricket.

They won't bring him back for T20. They ain't going through all this hassle to bring him back again and have to deal with more KP press. Once this World cup is gone they'll have weatherd the worse of the press storm.

Just the fact that KP has made such a scene about not being in this world cup when he spent most of the preceding 5 or so years trying to not play ODI cricket and playing it badly shows why he's upset so many teams throughout his career.

Don't get to carried away with his current form. I like the Bash loads as it is good fun, but its not exactly as if he is smashing world class bowling attacks is it? I watched him in the IPL and he was brutal in that and he was even worse for Surrey in England. He didn't exactly rip it up in the West Indies either.
