To be fair, you're right it was the right shot as it was short and wide but yes, bad execution.Yup, extremely poor execution that from Guptill.

Yeah, just saw he's averaging 22.25 in his last 20 ODIs. Surprisingly poor from him.Hopefully Baz gets a reasonably big score today. That half-century in the last game aside, he hasn't been able to transfer that amazing form in test cricket into this format of the game.
Nah rubbish, he was still a good ODI bat from about 2002-03 onwards, just happened to peak in the '07 WC.Styris was mud just before the 2007 WC and then was our best batsman. Not panic stations yet.
Of course, but his form was mud after coming back from injury during the tri series.Nah rubbish, he was still a good ODI bat from about 2002-03 onwards, just happened to peak in the '07 WC.
I don't think #5 is really his spot unless NZ get off to a really good start. He's either an opener or a finisher for mine; #5 requires a certain game sense, adaptability and focus on strike rotation that I don't think he really has. I'd given up hope of him opening again but I'm glad he's back up there.Yeah, just saw he's averaging 22.25 in his last 20 ODIs. Surprisingly poor from him.
I really don't think that's so necessary quite yet at 50/1 after 10. His main goal for the next 5 overs should just be to give BMac the strike, unless of course he gets some freebies.Important to go from both ends. Latham needs to dominate too.
Key word was 'just', I think. Phlegm's point was that he was in bad form going into the tournament but performed anyway because he was a quality bat.Nah rubbish, he was still a good ODI bat from about 2002-03 onwards, just happened to peak in the '07 WC.
