Agree with you, just depends whether he has the desire to play any more. Making a decision now would be silly but after a few weeks/months off he may just not want it any more.hang on, he's had a back spasm, which he's probably had hundreds of by now, and hurt a hamstring, which he's obviously done before. He's not ruined his achilles or lost 20% of his vision
Wasn't just Kohli in the batting. In the first inning, India did make runs courtesy some 50s by other players too. We are carrying passengers but we are filling holes. It's important to remember that despite how close it seemed with 20 overs to go, India did not deserve to be equals at all, Australia outperformed them comprehensively from a holistic POV which is why this is so grating. Kohli (with help and luck from Vijay) single-handedly challenged fate and inevitability with his two innings and got India in a position to win if only there was a little help from his friends. Make no mistake, it was not India putting up a great fight, it was Kohli running the show from the ruins with both swords drawn. My respect for him has risen tremoundously, it was even more a show of character than one of skill and considering how immense his strokeplay was, that isn't a light compliment.
This also makes us very vulnerable for the remaining tests because we cannot expect an individual performance like that again and we really need 7-8 players to stop being passengers in the game and turn it up.
too harsh imo.. he avgs 44 in tests and made 40+ in the first innings.. true he fked up in the chase but he deserves a run in this series. he has the talent - india need to persist with him the same way they did with virat while he failed in tests in the beginning.Kick Rohit out of test team.
He will continue to maintain a decent average based on his home performances but with this technique and temperament he will always struggle in overseas conditions.too harsh imo.. he avgs 44 in tests and made 40+ in the first innings.. true he fked up in the chase but he deserves a run in this series. he has the talent - india need to persist with him the same way they did with virat while he failed in tests in the beginning.
tbf you could say that about kohli in eng.. you can't just dump a guy like rohit - even if he dominates home and is below par away right now he's young and talented enough that ind need to persist with him.. no point destroying a career based on a few bad innings..He will continue to maintain a decent average based on his home performances but with this technique and temperament he will always struggle in overseas conditions.
Never look forward to any Roadelaide test but it has a habit of producing great matchesWhat a great game
Test cricket is a beautiful, unpredictable mistress
What? What?Kick Rohit out of test team.
Yuvraj on other hand failed to cement his place in test team all through his career after getting good amount of opportunities. Having seen Rohit's temperament in his 7+ years of international career, I wouldn't be comfortable relying on someone who would give away his wicket needlessly on regular basis. He might turn out to be Shane Watson of India in batting if he continues to gift his wicket.tbf you could say that about kohli in eng.. you can't just dump a guy like rohit - even if he dominates home and is below par away right now he's young and talented enough that ind need to persist with him.. no point destroying a career based on a few bad innings..
