Kohli is not gonna fix his average if he doesn't learn to cash in and make the big score.. A HS <120 is just.. Not good enough. Good knock tho.
True, but it's a good thing that virtually all his hundreds so far have come against really good attacks. This one he really should've converted to a big one, but it'll eventually come. Just needs that big hundred against a piss poor attack to get him going.

Yeah, acting as if Saha is an absolute rabbit with the bat, when he's actually pretty bloody good. Crap stuff from the comms, as per usual.

lol No, Ishant's gonna be bounced out easily, Karn sharma looks more like a hitter rather than a technical batsman from the little I've seen, but I could be wrong. The less said about Shammi and Aaron the better.

Also didn't Saha play at this ground the last time too? Aussie coms acting like its the first time they've seen him.
Yeah, Saha played a real good knock last time he was here. Hung around with Kohli to get him to a hundred.

Was going to say that it's Indian's day, but kohli's wicket means that it's about even I'd say. Well batted by the Indians but more of them need to go on if they want a chance in this series.

He'd have liked the rough. Would have gotten pretty nice bounce with the odd one turning, I'd think he'd be a handful.

Well done Saha.

The difference in the two scorecards is stark - Aus with three big tons, India with a lot of starts but a highest of 115. Do think they will concede a lead of around 80-100; setting themselves up for a tricky fourth innings.

Hopefully we can escape with a draw.

I think India had a decent day, would have definitely been a 'good day' if Kohli had hung on. Some good batting shown by Vijay and Pujara, the latter being extremely unlucky to get out the way he did. Useful knocks by Rahane and Rohit to support Kohli. If India finishes with the deficit less than 100, a draw looks likely. The key is surviving Mitch's first spell tomorrow morning.

Ashwin would've made some handy runs here... Another reason he should be playing.. But I should give it up its like wishing for mahela to open..

Genuine questions have to be asked as to whether the reason Kohli sucks in England is because his gf was there and he wasn't getting enough action elsewhere. Was restricted in his hook ups.
Well he has you in Australia so all is well on this tour.

I think someone in the comm box mentioned that Johnson hitting Kohli may have spooked him and disrupted his rhythm. Worth considering.
This and the Hughes tragedy. Unlike some players Johnson does find it hard to push things from his mind and zone in completely on the game as has happened at times in his career.

Nah, I don't really feel comfortable to keep attributing that to a person's performance. He just wasn't as good today, bowled too wide and couldn't seem to find the top of off stump.

That spell where he came back and got Vijay was Johnson 2013-14. He really did fall away after he hit Kohli. He's a very sensitive kid tbh.

Certainly agree his first spell and later ones were pretty tagged compared with what we have come to expect from him lately.

This is tough to type, but my man Siddle really needs a good showing tomorrow and/or in the fourth innings or he's going to be out of the team for a while..

Yeah Johnson would have been shaken by that. Nonetheless he still got Kohli with a bouncer in the end and it's not like he totally stopped bowling short after hitting Kohli.

Quite even right now, that last strike gives Australia a bit of advantage but I reckon Australia would like to have a lead of 100 runs or so, then they can dictate the game and push for a victory.

Hmmm, think Johnson's flatness and lack of aggression was being overplayed by the commentators and in the studio. It was only that spell after he hit Kohli where he was a bit all over the place. Otherwise, his setup of Vijay was pure MJ brilliance. Bowled a few nasty ones to Pujara and Saha too which were handled well.

Yea even going by Cricinfo, Johnson's earlier spells seemed to have a lot of deliveries in the pads and erratic lengths.
