Apologies for this, but I think it's a really good/interesting trend. Coincides exactly with what you'd expect relating to player age.

RVP wasn't a great signing really. I don't mean he was bad one when I say that, just not a particularly good one either. They basically ended up paying £20 million and four years of £200k a week for one high class season. In fact, I think every Man United striker is ridiculously expensive and past their best.

When has Redknapp ever got big stick in the media before this though? General perception was that he would just come a save QPR when he took them over.

Goal for Neymar early. If you exclude penalties, he's scoring at the best rate in Europe right now (better than Ronaldo). Do a decent job of proving me wrong.

Furball wouldn't be best pleased with Ashley Cole just there...

ffs how does a left back as experienced as Ashley Cole not know that Robben is going to cut inside and shoot?

I think they always try to characterise him as a manager who 'has-a-go' rather than an intelligent guy who knows his football. He may not be up-to-date the way Rodgers or Martinez are, but he isn't a tactical dinosaur like Hodgson. Frankly, bar the top 4 or 5 clubs, he should be one of the first names IMO for a club trying to push on to those places. He knows the league, and the lower leagues, knows how to spot a player and gets teams playing nice, attacking, football.

He also knows how to set up off-shore bank accounts in the name of his pet dog. Which I suspect is in a big way precisely why plenty of clubs would not be willing to take him on, if you catch my drift.

Great wee run from Muller for the 2nd goal.

And Lewandowski makes it 3. Could be something special on the cards here.

Just no Icky, please don't say that 'arry is under-appreciated by the Press, you maybe right about him being one of the better around (don't think so myself), but there is no way he is under-rated by our meedja, and particulary compared to Hodgson.

None of this bears any relation to anything I know. They talk him up as a tactical messiah on Talksport that would have won us the World Cup.

We could throw in his worrying habit of near/bankrupting clubs too, yet hey that's not mentioned much by the press as very few of his faults are.

RVP was signed purely to win Fergie a last title. But obviously he couldn't give him a short deal.

I actually have a lot of respect for Robben. The way he has revitalised his career since the horror 2012 is extraordinary.

I'm convinced this stuff (big matches being stupidly one sided) is happening more these days. Could just be that there are more matches though.
