Ohh FFS stop with the penalty debate is anyone going to change their ****ing minds.

anyway Tom Cleverly looks like he's staying at Man U, because his agent wants nice big wages. Good for him, and good for England as that will mean he'll be ignore in Man U's reserves.
Btw, some of our idiot fans have already called for Rob Edwards' head but I love him. And Richards and Gill too,

On Sanago; I find it really hard to not really like him. He's way to raw to be playing premier league for a club like Arsenal, but I think he'd do well at most average premier league sides. I'll always remember the day he came out of nowhere and made Bayern Munich **** themselves for half an hour in the Champions League. Reckon he'd tear **** up in the lower levels tbh.
Yeah but Harmison Theorem states that making people **** themselves with zero end product doesn't win matches.

Sanogo is the type of player that could turn out decent, and probably not a bad option for something different from the bench. Yet he's clearly not ready to start now.

Yeah, what happened to not letting him go to a top four side as well? Was that just twitter talk?
I think there must be a financial imperative to let him go. I don't believe we could have made 4th anyway, but this is essentially giving up altogether. If there was one club we shouldn't have let him go to it was Arsenal.

I tend to agree but tbf, we got a penalty. All changed when we went down to 10 though.

And when he's played we've managed to not get completely dicked in big games, which is an improvement. When Giroud plays the opposition defensive line comes much higher up and we're SOOOO easy to press because there's no threat of a fast break. I thought that would happen against Bayern but Sanogo helped.

Is Gilly playing? one of my fave midfielders ever in his first spell, silky goodness. Not so sure about him in the second spell.

This transfer deadline day has been **** but I have quite enjoyed it. Helps that 99% of Arsenal fans I follow on twitter had much, much higher expectations today than me.

Has played a few times yeah. Midfield our strongest area so we certainly don't need to be exhausting old men like him and Koumas but when Gill has played he's looked good.

Richards looks top class though

Honestly I don't think he's an amazing prospect. I see no reason to expect him to improve any more than the hundreds of other big awkward 21-year-old strikers. Four months older than Lukaku fwiw.

Didn't Wenger get him for free? I think he's a random punt with a small chance of making it, and washed up in the first team because Arsenal ran out of forwards.

Yeah there's something to that. But you'll find the same thing with Welbeck, and he's more like an actual footballer.

I think this is a little too harsh, but I agree with most of this post. I like the guy, but don't especially rate, and I think there's more evidence to suggest he might be cack than there is to suggest he might be good.

RE: Welbeck. Yeah, I have never really rated, but it's not the worst signing in the world. I'm not convinced he will be a great addition, but I doubt he'll be a poor one.

Must admit I kinda assumed the Falcao deal was all tied up but Jim White is blabbering on about a race against time

would be so funny if it fell through

oh and btw before good old Jim asks if football clubs are the only people who still use faxes - no. Most companies do

Well we've flogged Johnson Clarke-Harris to Rotherham for a few hundred k. Might be able to get a bit more progress on the new stand...

Nah, jog on. This was fair January last year, but this year definitely not.

Diego Costa, Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata, Adrian Ramos, Ciro Immobile, Jackson Martinez, Karim Benzama, Gonzalo Higuian, Cerci, Destro, etc.

Obviously it's highly debatable how many of them were 'available' but most of those did move this window and we could've at least enquired. Then when you go to post Giroud injury the likes of Remy definitely should've been in mind.

And as GIMH said, Arsenal are meant to have world class scouts and people to find these guys. I don't really know about people not playing in England, Spain or Germany.
Having a laugh with most of that list. Benzema in particular, Real gave him a 5 year deal ffs. The very definition of "not available."

I reckon he'll end up your best forward. He can hold up the ball like Giroud, but is also a really fast and willing runner. If he can improve his finishing I wouldn't be surprised if he scored 15-20 goals a season.

Would love him at Liverpool personally. Would be a classic Rodgers signing: unappreciated and still young enough to be coached into our system; and a player with lots of pace, flexibility and work-rate.

Are Prem clubs allowed to sign free agents at any point like the rest of us?
Yes, as they are not transfers I guess. I think they need to be released by their previous club before the transfer deadline though.
