US open time slot isn't ideal if you live in Australia + work normal times, so I've been following the results without seeing much at all. Hopefully I can find somewhere to watch Jerzy vs Kevin Anderson as I doubt FoxSports will show it.
It's okay for UK, except the night matches.

I'll miss Sabine-Maria tonight which will be annoying.

Finally managed to find a good website with the first serve from Anderson just about to start.

That Sharapova Lisicki match should be great, it probably is on a very viewer friendly time here being Saturday morning. BTW, wheres Jono?

EDIT - break off Anderson's first service game, JERZY

Hm maybe I should post more.
Not sure what you mean by this, oh gnomic one.

TBH I try to mask my preference for the female game in a pervy way, maybe because I'm worryingly less embarrassed with that, then just saying I prefer to watch a female sport. Yet I can't deny the fact there's eye candy doesn't hurt.

Yet I just find the mens game so dull nowadays, whilst understanding why many think it's at it's peak. It's clinically brilliant, it's all about baseline tactics, percentages and precision, if you just love the best play, why not enjoy it, indeed indulge in it. All automatons existing almost entirely on their quality of play. Yet I just find it dull. I like sport for personality, passion, and yes even stupid errors.

Hence why as a spectacle I prefer the women's game, it's often all over the place, nasty clashing personaltiies, games(wo)manship. breaks of serves, bitchiness, crying. some genius mixed with awfulness, it's just fun drama, and that's what I love in my sport, not perfection.

BTW this is a generalisation and I know men have some wild craziness, and the women have some ruthlessly efficient percentage dull players.

Halep out, Kerber out, Venus out. Busy morning.
Really happy about MLB, really harrowing stories about her father, and incredible she's comeback after all these years. Errani is generally anti-tennis but I did like her having a go at the crowd (almost Sharapova-esque) and actually volleying which I thought wasn't allowed in the game anymore. Bencic looks a potential huge star too.

Is Gulbis the only person from the top 20 out so far? I went to sleep after Jerzy's awesome first set win so I'm just going to pretend the rest didn't happen.

Interesting take on the ladies game Grecian - I prefer watching 3 sets over 5 in the first week of the tournament. Once we get to semis and finals, I definitely prefer the 5 sets though.

I would actually like all matches to be best-of-three until the last 16, and then them all to switch to best-of-five for both ***es. Won't happen though.

Fognini (no I dunno how he got to the top-20 either)

Yeah actually that's an excellent option.

Oh yeah true. Totally forgot about him. One player that I was pretty surprised to see seeded was Souza from Portgual. I've been betting on him frequently in minor tournaments this year, but didn't think he'd done anything in any of the bigger tournaments to deserve a seed.
