Nevermind.. but he should've been selected before this.Hales is in the team?
As I understand it (and correct me if I'm wrong) up until very recently his List A performances haven't been that great. He's now made a compelling case and has been selected.......I don't think that was the case before.Nevermind.. but he should've been selected before this.
That's a very good point, and for his quality Bell's conversion rate in ODI's is piss poor. But tbf he has made 2 of those 3 tons in the last 3 years and his average for an opening bat during that period is pretty bloody good.Yeah Adders that is obviously a more useful innings but Ian Bell has precisely 3 ODI hundreds in 146 matches, so its not like he is regularly doing that either.
TBF to Scaly (and it is rare that I agree with him) but half of those scores are in the ODI format.......I don't think he should be playing here any more than he should have been playing in the tests.Yeah, ludicrous decision to drop an all-rounder who'd had 3 ducks in a row, and a run of scores in last 10 International innings of 0,5,5,4,0,4,0,0,0,0. Not ignoring the fact that we also went on to absolutely dominate the series.
Err what? Woakes and Jordan took what was it, 4 wickets in the next two Tests between them? Two of those were during the last rites - last two balls of the Test.Tests, ODI's, T20's, whatever, they're all International games, and a run of scores only Chris Martin would be proud of. He was in miserable form with the bat, looked to be completely lacking in confidence, and it's not like we missed him with the ball when he did go.
