***Official*** India in England 2014

Ishant running down the pitch is such bull. Makes the pitch worse and the only penalty that can happen is he gets kicked out of the attack, which doesn't help England either.
Gotta respect him trying to finally do something useful in his 58 tests.

Wouldn't Rohit make it a stupidly long batting lineup? I know that's no bad thing really, but I feel they'd probably be better off squeezing another bowler in there.
The thing about India's batting lineup is that Dhoni is straight up not good enough to bat six in most conditions. This can arguably be offset somewhat by having decent batsmen at 7, 8 and 9 as well, but sometimes I'm not sure I really buy into that. If someone is bowling a really good spell that a proper batsman could see out but someone of Dhoni-away standard or worse couldn't, then it's not just a matter of adding up the averages and saying you've got it covered -- the chance of a massive collapse is greatly increased. I'm a big fan of having a proper batsman at six regardless of how strong the tail is.

Its not a howler but it is also a bit of a sketchy decision when both bits are amber. Can't moan though if you don't play with your bat. Colour me unconvinced by Robson.

Yeah, precisely my thoughts. There's something which annoys me to an incredible extent about Dhoni batting six.

Meh, he'll be playing mostly on roads with a cooked Broad and Anderson with no quality spinner. It's an entirely different animal to the one Dhoni failed so badly in 2011 and the subsequent Australia series.

You just named over half the team

Anderson hasn't been that bad, just not as good as he was
The new boys aren't doing badly. Centuries for all the new bats, no runs for Cook and Bell. Broad has bowled crap all summer but the hat trick masks that. Jimmy has bowled ok but is being worked into the ground by a poor captain and Prior has been terrible apart from one knock v SL. Also in the big moments like when the new ball was taken today the big performers are doing nothing. Broad's spell was abysmal.

Ravi Bopara has been vital for @EssexCricket this season and he's at it again today. He's 47 off 32. ESS 140-4 (16). Big total looming...

Should we be worried?
