They always have been for mine, they've just had Skippy Sinclair being Bradmanesque for them most seasons to make it less ****ty.Boy, CD are going to be extremely weak on the batting front.
Not surprised you had Craig on the phone, tbh. Unless they're really ignorant and it's about to get really embarrassing, lock him in then. The news has been welcomed by Aces players, with batsmen Jeet Raval and Craig Cachopa expressing their pleasure at the announcement.
"We think that we’ve built a really good culture in the Aces and put together some great performances in recent seasons, so to have Mondiale want to put their faith in us by being naming rights sponsor is fantastic news," Raval commented.
Cachopa was also pleased that the Aces had Mondiale on board.
"I know that Mondiale have been a big supporter of Auckland Cricket and it’s great that they’re now putting their name to the Aces as well. We’ve got a lot of talent in our squad and we’re looking forward to a successful season ahead playing as the Mondiale Auckland Aces."
Fringe batsmen from other provinces should perhaps look at moving there to get some regular game time like Cachopa did.Boy, CD are going to be extremely weak on the batting front.
Ideal situation for Otago would be Ryder continuing to destroy domestic attacks, Redmond being good, Bracewell getting even better, and the all-rounders stepping up.Ahh yes, i can feel another season of ND-Otago hegemony coming along
As an Aucklander, pains me to agree with this, but this is nothing new. The fact that Brad and Tarun can just walk back in is just the usual Auckland Cricket way.Another crap season for Auckland on the cards then.
Remind me again how many first class matches Ryder, Taylor and Oram played for CD? Remind me again how many seasons in a row Sinclair put over 1000 on the board at an average exceeding 70?Yeah we're looking very reliant on Hay and Kruger atm, but we've never been that reliant on Skippy. Taylor, Ryder, Ingram, Oram, Hay mk I (and mk II looks set to continue), Weston, Kruger van Wyk and How in his early days scored plenty of runs. We're suffering from How's decline and a glut of retirements, but to say we have always been reliant on Sinclair is ignorant.
