4% is the smallest 'wasp' I've seen to date. Does't mean that Glamorgan, with Sammy, couldn't pull this off though.
I think it was about 2%at one point when England nearly pulled off that buttler-inspired ODI win.

Was one of the reasons I was so pissed off we failed. Because WASP needs debunking for the irritating nonsense that it is.

Don't get the WASP hate. It basically predicts the result of games based on previous matches. You know, just like every human being does.

It's just a meaningless stat which ignores everything great about sport and tries to make a boring stat about it. It isn't needed at all.

It's right again though so I welcome my insect overlord.

Except it doesn't take away anything, it's a small thing on the far right of the score bar. It's like the annoying ****s who moan about the rev counter. It's an additional gimmick, not something that's forced upon you or detracts from the game.

I think the annoying ****s who moan about people moaning are most annoying TBH.

I see the point of a rev counter, I fail to see any point in WASP, so I'd rather it wasn't flashing on my screen, in the same way I wish Ian Botham wasn't part of the coverage.

I believe the original idea behind WASP was to solve the problem of those incredibly annoying people who, half way through a game of cricket ask "who's winning"? In the past the standard response would be beat your head against a brick wall, but now you can say "WASP says team X is winning. Now **** off".

How the hell did I end up in this thread? No more methylated spirits for me.

Kevin O'Brien making his Championship debut aged 30 at the Oval is a curious selection. His Ireland team-mate Wilson doesn't seem interested in bowling him, either.

And that's a big ol' beard that Tomlinson of Hants is sporting these days. I know he's a bit slimmer, but when he was walking around the boundary yesterday in a wide brimmed hat it was almost as if WG was back. :)

Warwickshire looked dead in this game. Kind of game Notts can't afford to lose if they want to win the championship.

Looks likely to be an exciting finish to the championship. No dominant team. If anything Yorkshire have looked the best team but international callups may eventually toll on the squad.

Could be a close one at Edgbaston - Warks 241-7 now needing another 48.

I'd still tip Notts at this stage, but if Ambrose and Barker could add another 20 ...

Was a the Oval on Monday, not a lot happened really but a pleasant enough day.

Did like the look of Matt Dunn though, looked to have some very decent pace
