What would be the D/L target if the chase were reduced to 40 overs? About ten less? Will be funny if we get a reduced target

But Broad would significantly weaken the batting line-up if he replaces Ravi. Jordan at 7 is a stupidly long tail. Not quite the same as having someone like Broad to come on though, is it? Competent batsman should be able to work him for 2.5/3 an over without being in too much danger of losing their wicket.
I'm not arguing that 5 bowlers is a better option. Simply that only having four bowlers can be a hindrance in certain situation, such as having a side 40-4.But Broad would significantly weaken the batting line-up if he replaces Ravi. Jordan at 7 is a stupidly long tail.
Two average sides but they are both very inconsistent and when they are bad they are terrible. This ODI series is playing out so weirdly.. I'm not sure if Eng is very good/average/very bad or SL is very good/average/very bad..

Yeah it was. Had never really thought about it before but it's defiantly got merit.Botham actually made a good point earlier (broken clock and all that) about Sanga/Mahela's averages in England being negatively affected by Sri Lanka always playing the early test matches of a summer when bowling is easier.
SL always tours before India to experience the worst of the conditions.. the board really has no leverage to get what they want. One positive this time is that the T20I and ODIs are played before the Tests so players would have a little more time to acclimatize to the conditions.Yeah it was.
