Another one of those stats from the ipl said that the on-side slog is Maxwell's most productive shot but isn't that just redundant? Do off side slogs even exist, assuming leading edges from on-side slogs don't count?

Maxwell, Miller, Bailey, Gayle, Sehwag, Kohli, AB in one match
.....

bowlers should get their anal cavities ready.

Yeah, no. Local Indian bowlers get smashed in the IPL. How can worse local talent from worse cricketing countries improve standards? It won't.
You think SL can't field one team that's better than a 9th indian team? I realize SL isn't a bowling giant but I find that hard to believe. Malinga, Mendis, Senanayake, Herath, Kulasekara, Mathews would beg to differ. They all have great T20I records:

The Dhaka team is more debatable but if the best Bangladeshis play in that team I would think the bowling couldn't be worse than an indian 9th team.

I'm not saying it will necessarily improve standards, but I find it hard to believe it would deteriorate them (assuming 4 internationals in those teams as well). Same/higher quality, more global reach.

The problem is most of them would be top stars in IPL franchises. The rest are mediocre at best.

All the players from these teams that do well will get bought by the IPL franchises in the next season. Unless of course, the new teams are allowed to take part in the auction, thus effectively rendering the whole concept pointless anyways since they'll start buying players from all over.

Yes, the new teams will be exactly the same as existing IPL teams except "local talent" would be that country's talent. The point of this is to get SL/Ban/Pak populations involved in the league => more reach = more merchandise = more revenue.

India is obviously a way bigger market, but if it was expanded like this, the IPL would have an opportunity to make a much bigger impact.

Mendis, Kulasekara, Senanayake have all played before. You really are not very well informed, are you?
My bad for not checking my claim, but Kula didn't play last year, and Herath has never played. I'm not saying they should've since it generally makes more sense to buy an international batsman, but if an SL team was around they would make sure the bowling quality would not suffer (which is the reason this was brought up in the first place).

KXIP are a slightly silly side at the moment. There's absolutely no subtlety to the way they bat, they just all come out and try to smash every ball they can.

Would be interesting to see Maxwell up against Narine/Badree/Tambe. Think he might not be as successful against spinners like Tambe who fire it in at good pace with control.

why did they drop Rishi dhawan again? This would have been the ideal situation for him to come in an accelerate late in the innings.
