***Official*** Australia in South Africa 2013/14

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah but the more you put up with **** like him, the more the chances that every team is gonna designate one to play that role. Like it or not, Australia started this with Hayden deliberately sprouting **** under Steve Waugh... And Harbhajan was designated to do that for India.. The list just keeps on growing.

Maybe things seem equal heading into the 3rd test, but they're not. Signs look good for SA. Amla, Du Plessis and Duminy are back among the runs, Steyn is firing once again, Philander has found his line, Morkel has found his mongrel and of course De Villiers is in wonderful touch. Add in a fourth seamer (Abbott or Parnell) and SA's attack looks more relentless. I just don't see them collectively failing like they did in the first test. Since becoming number one, SA usually let their opponents give their best shots upfront, but as a team SA save their best for last.

Australia, on the other hand, rely far too heavily on Johnson and a single major batting performance from the top six to cover up their top order frailties. Now that the SA batsmen have shown that Johnson is not unplayable but just dangerous, Australia's other pacemen have to stand up. Harris looks exhausted and Siddle as usual lacks penetration. But switching your seam attack when they are not injured for the last test seems strange when you continually tout them as 'the best pace attack in the world'.

I see the 3rd test being a close affair, but somehow I don't think 1 or 2 star performances from the Aussies can beat the more consistent SA side.

Has anyone actually done that? Genuine question. The attack as a whole has been called the best in the world by Clarke and Siddle and perhaps others but that's a different thing altogether as it contains Lyon. I don't think I've heard anyone from the Australian camp say they have the best pace attack.

Didn't Craig McDermott claim just that? Or did he just say it was the best attack like the others?

They put another Chappell video on Cricinfo, has that man got no shame. How does he look at himself in the mirror ?

I could hear his teeth grinding when he said South Africa could be favourites

At the risk of going all TNT, christ people overreact to the **** David Warner says. He's a bit of a pillock, but people should learn to stop taking him seriously (or, at least, stop paying attention to him).
Won't happen, not sure it should either.

I quite like Chappell's analysis, but its clear he has no soft spot for the Proteas and Graeme Smith's conservative minded captaincy, though they do deliver results. I was surprised before this test when he seemed to give SA no chance and suggested a 3-0 battering. But its not just him, a lot of fans and pundits went overboard.

Nah, Warner's awesome. A complete ****, but sport's always a bit more fun with complete dicks like Warner to hate.

It's ****s like James Faulkner that need a good punch in the mouth.

Yeah, that's one option........another is that David Warner should pull his head in and stop giving people a reason to react to his bull****. The guy is a dead set muppet, if he trolled in here like he trolls in the media you mods would have got rid of him ages ago.

I think it is incredibly poor form to be suggesting the South Africans were ball tampering without having any firm evidence to back it up.

I hope Elgar plays the next game. I thought the few overs he bowled were quite impressive.

I think that should be the combination going forwards is to have 2 part time spinners and 3 seamers and a bowling all rounder. Though with our top order we could get away with 4 bowlers seeing as philander is such a good batsman and I think steyn is in the top ten all roudners in the world :D

David Warner doesn't deliberately troll. It's nothing to do with pulling his head in. He's just not very intelligent.

Also, if you look through what he said it's not all that inflammatory, it's just almost stupidly sincere. The guy is like an 8 year old. It's not his fault.

I think this is what makes it annoying actually; he's not just being a character and trying to wind up the opposition, he legitimately believes what he says. Oblivious bias really frustrates me.

I guess, but it annoys me much less than the bias shown by guys like Michael Vaughan who actually do know better.
