Our list of players missing from this series is becoming a bit silly. If New Zealand don't win this I honestly think serious questions should be asked. .
Nah, no questions were asked when we were Banglawashed a few months ago. It's generally accepted that we're figuring out a team for the world cup so basically, results don't matter, just progress.

That said, the team we put out the other day is probably very close to our strongest team.

Neesham is a batting all-rounder being forced to play as a bowling all-rounder, ideally he would bat at seven and be your fourth seamer, not your third. Unfortunately for him Corey Anderson exists. New Zealand seem hell bent on developing them on the fly together however.
Yeah it's absolutely worth playing them together though. They have a pretty high ceiling. Neesham's bowling, when he gets the radar right could be very good and they're both good strong hitters.

True but at the same time we've already seen that international batsmen find his shorter stuff very easy to latch on to
only when it's predictable and/or wayward. He gets the direction right and doesn't over-bowl it and it's a pretty decent percentage ball. Tough with tiny NZ boundaries though.

A rumour from an unreliable source has come to my attention that Colin Munro is going to take up the gloves in the List A stuff for Auckland to replace Luke Ronchi in the team. McHesson has indicated to him that they like the cut of his jib.

He can keep?

Not right now but he will take it up. Auckland Cricket will be asked to be patient with him and Hopkins will play as a batsman. Take it with a massive grain of salt as the rumour went through 10 people before it got to me. One of the firebirds said something to someone who repeated it on the Pearce cup circuit and it filtered down to me. For all I know it could have been an off the cuff comment with no substance.

Munro keeping would be amazing.

Just found a chance to watch the highlights now. Good innings from the two McCullum boys, very good ODI cricketers both. NZ would be a much better test team if Baz was as good at tests as he is at ODIs. Nice to see Mitch M continue his roll too.

Classy finish from Sammy, and I like the look of Holder. Only looks to be medium pace but when you get his bounce who cares. Couldn't tell how consistent he was with his areas on highlights but if he can keep the pressure and not get told to bowl back of a length but to keep it up instead he will be a good player. Highlight has to be Rampaul though. Love chunky blokes bowling well at respectable pace.

I reckon New Zealand will climb up back again soon. Their young players are pretty exciting. In batting you have Williamson where you cannot deny the talent he possesses, and bowling you have Boult who is the same. Boult has the potential to be the best number 11 batsman for sure and both are really energetic fielders.

West Indies on the other hand looks disinterested in tests and only care about limited overs especially T20 which is a shame given their rich cricketing history and talent they always produce.

I'd be surprised if New Zealand loses this one-day series.

I agree, but it leaves the current team light on "proper bowling" Nathan McCullum is next to useless and both Anderson and Neesham while very nice options aren't exactly front line bowlers. A half decent batting line-up will go 300+ a good deal of the time on a flattie. Personally I'd rather see Neesham keep being allowed to develop his batting but that isn't going to happen in this current New Zealand team. Go play for Otago, bat at five and bowl first change. He's a tremendously gifted cricketer and I would hate for that part of his game to just stall or go backwards.

In saying that the game is over an hour away from starting, if it stops in the next 20mins or so should be no worries.

Yea, its gotten worse the last 40 minutes or so. Disappointing would of been good to see both sides on a flat deck
