It's been said before but god it's frustrating for a player like Williamson, averaging 35, to fail to cash in like that. Really need more selfishness from our batsmen.

Talking about utilising Crowe's technical expertise to fix some of our batsmen's techniques. I must say, if Crowe can fix Guptill then he should be employed full time. His flaws are so obvious yet Bob Carter has done nothing whatsoever to fix his problems.

Taylor now ranked seventh in test batting rankings I see. Pretty amazing tbh.

Southee our highest bowler at 18th though presumably still weighed down by his results from >18 months ago.

If McCullum gets himself caught on the boundary...............

We are in a reasonable position right now, scoring fairly quickly owing to number of lose balls; risks like that are not needed.

I honestly can't remember a time we've had a batsman in the top 10.
Turns out the last one was Richardson

Crowe: Highest ranking 3 - ( 29/01/1993 )
Richardson: Highest ranking 6 - ( 12/12/2003 )
Wright: Highest ranking 7 - ( 15/03/1990 )
Jones: Highest ranking 8 - ( 04/03/1994 )
Cairns: Highest ranking 10 - ( 15/11/2000 )
McMillan: Highest ranking 10 - ( 12/09/2000 ) :-O
Fleming: Highest ranking 12 - ( 01/02/1997 )
Astle: Highest ranking 17 - ( 13/03/2002 )

Styris, Oram, Vettori never broke 20

Surprising that Fleming's peak wasn't around 2003 or 2004 when he was making scores, certainly surprising his peak isn't higher than Cairns or McMillan. I certainly don't recall McMillan being in particularly peak form circa winter 2000. Actually, it was probably more the 2000/01 season where I recall him doing some stuff.

Kind of surprised his peak ranking was way back in '97 - thought it might be when he started racking up the double-tons later in his career.

Edit: Beaten!

@Athlai. Eh can't be bothered looking them all up again to get the number. Though the top 100 ever list has four NZers with Taylor the third: Alltime Test. Though hard to compare across eras because Crowe's rating was great for his era but doesn't even get him on the top 100 list.
