He wouldn't have had the contacts, but even if he did, probably not. Big clubs are very choosy about the playing style of clubs they loan out players to.

I don't think Everton under Martinez reflect badly on Moyes. A club continuing to improve after the manager leaves is usually a sign that he did a responsible job imo.

But it does suggest that he took them as far as he could. It reminds me a little of when Wenger first took over Arsenal- Martinez is inheriting a solid defensive system and can concentrate on adding his passing game.
Yeah, very fair call.

Also shows the benefit of continuity. Arsene basically kept the core Arsenal ethos intact (appointing or keeping chaps like Rice and Brady, who have "ARSENAL" stamped through them like Blackpool rock) and subtly added his own philosophy to it.

Moyes, by bringing in his own backroom staff, has, to some extent, pissed away a little bit of what he inherited from Ferguson.

I guess it's a bit of a political move. By doing that he is letting everyone know that there is no way back. Even if they remove him now, they have to replace his whole staff too.

Haha, if they want to sack him I doubt that will stop them. It's hardly like they'll be sat around saying "yeah, we'd sack him if it wasn't for that pesky fitness coach".

Practically, yes. Symbolically, it's important. It makes Moyes seem more replaceable if he had everyone still there because people would always have the option of going back to the 'old' United. I don't think they can ever do that now. He basically removed that from the beginning.

It's similar to Rodgers' recent workings in the youth system for Liverpool. Yeah, they're only youth coaches, but the way we were going under Borrell and McParland seemed pretty good. By removing them Rodgers has shaken things up a lot and planted a new/different marker for acceptance at that level.

Yeah, but if Man Utd end up finishing the season in 8th place there will be nothing "symbolic" about the nature of the failure. He and his coaches would be out on their arses.

BetFred apparently offering 7/1 on Arsenal for all new customers btw, if anyone likes a bet.

edit: BetFred's offer has sold out, hardly surprising.
No, to beat Everton.
Not surprised it's sold out.

Few punters banging on several grand, no doubt.
Yeah, reckon there's a few people looking to get Christmas paid for with the offer.
Looks like there will be a few upset BetFred customers. Usually betting agents (in Australia, at least) have a max bet for these type of things, so there wont be any big losers.

The smart money was on the draw, check the tips in our tipping comp.

Quite frankly if whomever did it didn't lay off with a company like Betfair, I have no sympathy whatsoever, should have been a guaranteed profit.

Yeah exactly. No sympathy from me. Man Utd are again closer to relegation than they are to the title. Relegation battle is getting interesting once again, Palace are looking better with the new manager in charge.

I wonder how Chelsea now feel about the loan move of Lukaku? The good thing for them is that he is playing a big part in ensuring other top teams don't take 3 points against Everton.
Of course Chelsea lost to Everton and its not unlikely that he'd be outperforming Torres, Ba and Eto'o.

I predicted we were going to be in serious relegation danger this season and I've been proved right so far unfortunately. Seemingly, it appears as though Allardyce is the next on the chopping block of managers to be sacked with it all coming down to whether he wins this weekend or not. Going to kill the club if we get relegated with moving into the Olympic Stadium in 2015.

Winston Reid is almost a bigger loss than Andy Caroll because since he's been out goals have been flying in from everywhere.
