Gary Neville showing his bottomless impartiality by prefacing praise of Everton's performance with "I'm not an Everton fan by any stretch of the imagination, but..." there

Great keeping from Howard there.

On the other hand, Giroud looked slightly too concerned about the possible impact.

What's annoying me now is the idea that we can fix the season by signing more players in January. Fans always talk about that but has it every actually happened? A top ten club makes a January signing and immediately steps up to the next level? I can't think of a single time it has.

The problem is partly RVP's fitness but mostly just Moyes. There's no obvious replacement so we sort of just have to hope he gets better. But if they do miss out on the top four he'll surely go.
Nah, Arsenal wouldn't have remained unbeaten for the duration of the 03/04 season if they hadn't signed Reyes in January

On a serious note though, Arsenal signing Arshavin in the January window a few years back was probably critical to them finishing the season as strongly as they did. Prior to him coming in the chances of them finishing in the top 4 were looking somewhat dubious.

Half time's coming completely at the wrong time from an Arsenal point of view. Momentum's totally swung our way.

Been a cracking game, there's a niggly wee undertone as well which always makes things interesting.

Arsenal were given a lesson for most of that half but Everton had to score. Can see Arsenal winning as they can't play as bad for a long period again surely?

Poor post. Everton deserve immense credit for how well they've played.

Arsenal haven't actually been that bad when they've had the ball, they've just not been allowed to play by Everton.

Everton haven't even had any major clear cut chances. No shots on target yet.

Mertesacker and, in particular Koscienly, have been immense.

Think this is a really big game for Arsenal tbh. A win here will go a long way to ensuring that they're top of the table at the beginning of January, and if they're still in first place then I think they really ought to win the whole thing.
