You can really tell that Watson has been working on covering that Magnus effect to the seam bowlers and not playing around his pad.

You might have missed my post about how the magnus effect dominates at the pace a spinner bowls at, especially Swann's pace. But ok, keep your snark coming.

Please tell me how Monty is spinning his balls, I am listening to radio and they just haven't described all the intricacies. Do they still have the rev counter?

Can someone please explain how spinners get drift? I've heard a couple of competing theories.

How the magnus effect leads to drift:
Two ways to get drift:
1. Undercut the ball, orient the spin so that the ball comes out at least somewhat like a flying saucer
2. Lots of sidespin but going across a batsman instead of wicket to wicket (overspin/backspin along the width of the pitch).
The first can be seen in Graeme Swann's bowling, he undercuts his offbreaks.
The second is how Shane Warne usually got his legbreaks to drift. Especially dat Gatting Ball.

Maybe wind matters but it's usually never thaaaat windy.

What exactly is the point of deep midwicket? Rogers isn't exactly about to slog-sweep.

EDIT: Gee that looked close
