Can't see Dembele spending much time on the bench. I reckon he's probably their best player after Bale.Another thoroughly disheartening thing is the fact that all these players like Lamela and Eriksen were in fact born in the 90s. Wtf is that. Must be getting old.
Anyway, it crossed my mind that it may even be worth Arsenal making a move for Sigurdsson or Dembele. I doubt either of them will fancy sitting on the bench much this year, and would make decent additions to Arsenal's squad. One wonders why attempts weren't made to sign them last year, in fact (****ing useless Arsenal). Doubt Spurs would be interested in selling, of course.
Their centre halfs are rubbish and I don't rate them up front if Soldado gets injured.I don't think the Tottenham situation is all that bad, honestly. They have two players for each midfield position, and with the amount of football they're going to play this season, they should all get a decent amount of game time.
Chelsea's players have it worse.
I meant the "too many midfielders" thing, but yeah I see where you're coming from now.Their centre halfs are rubbish and I don't rate them up front if Soldado gets injured.
Vertonghen is rubbish?Their centre halfs are rubbish and I don't rate them up front if Soldado gets injured.
He's definitely not rubbish but I'm wary of defenders that built their reputation on going through a purple scoring patch. They're almost always overrated for ages afterwards e.g. Vermaelen, Cahill.Vertonghen is rubbish?
Agree about strikers though.
It's one of the worst things about Podolski being injured imo. Not only has he been amongst the goals recently, but he works so hard when the team don't have the ball. He's definitely not rubbish but I'm wary of defenders that built their reputation on going through a purple scoring patch. I think they have some CB from Eastern Europe lined up and they have a great keeper. I don't think the quality of CBs matters all that much, defending has so much more to do with how the team works as a whole. They always get the credit/blame for how many goals a team concedes but it can have just as much to do with something like a right-midfielder that isn't doing his job. The fact that they've looked pretty tight in their first two games and at the end of last season is a better indication of where their defence is at than the fact that their CBs look a bit dud on paper.
Hmm I'd only half agree. He's brilliant at pressing from the front but when he plays on the left he doesn't track back. That's why Wenger didn't start him in big games. It's one of the worst things about Podolski being injured imo.
