*Official* First Test at Trent Bridge

Anyway, great day for England

Until the second new ball, Oz had bowled well enough to deserve a lot more from it but they simply had no luck whatsoever whilst England had it by the truck-load

Unfortunately, cricket is like that and I had a feeling we were in for a tough day from the time that KP inside-edged the first boundary of the day and hit the second off a leading edge
Yes cricket's fortunes can change quickly, day two England saw several decisions go against them that could and probably should have gone in their favour, then today they certainly had much more luck with regards the Broad incident.

Guess that cancels out Agar's stumping then...
Aleem Dar clearly still pissed about Trott
Karma at work for yesterday me thinks.

Anyway a wonderful day for England and so many on here had given up yesterday and when the double dismissal in the morning happened. You shouldn't write us off so quickly.

A nice Michelle for Swanny to win it tomorrow will be the perfect present on my birthday.

P.S. Bell was magnificent and Pattinson is a **** of huge proportions.

Bell was just great though. Bell Bell Bell.
Ian Bell was fantastic today, and not because of his usual 'pleasing on the eye' strokeplay, but the way he knuckled down and found a way, different to his usual MO, to score runs on this pitch against a disciplined Aussie attack. We needed him big style today and so far he has delivered.

Patto's a great **** though, can't help but love his fervour and sheer demented derangement.

He's going to be annoying the **** out of us for the next 10 years tbh so we'll just have to get used to it.

Yes have no problems with his attitude, we're not supposed to like the Aussie opening bowlers, I spent years disliking McGrath, now comes across as a decent guy, but could always recognise his class. Think Pattinson will be the same, will hate him when he takes our wickets or gives it out to our batsmen, but got to see this guy can bowl. Actually enjoy watching him bowl to other sides.

Looks like an interesting day's play. England surely on top now despite some exceptional bowling from Pattinson in particular. He was all over England once the ball started reversing in the first session. I presume Clarke stuck with the old ball for a while after lunch, given how much trouble it was causing for the batsmen?

The Ump missing Broads edge to slips was an absolute shocker. But I also think that the decision not to give Agar out stumped when he was only 6 was equally bad. There is absolutely no way that Agar had any part of his foot behind the crease when Prior broke the bails.

Things have been evened up IMO (not deliberately I should add).

Cheating Poms.

Pakistani and Indian umpires should be banned from international cricket.
There's no place for comments like that here, thanks mate.

Whilst it's true that Poms are cheats, there have been some very good subcontinental umpires, and some bad ones.

Just like everywhere else.
