***Official*** England in New Zealand series 2013

It's harsh to criticise Wagner since he's been our most effective bowler in the series so far, but he bowls so much filth in between the wicket balls that I'd probably just substitute Bracewell straight back in when fit.

Southee needs to fix a few things with his bowling though so he shouldn't be too comfortable.

England already have enough runs. Finn's wicket is the best thing that could have happened to them.

Meh, drop him for Bracewell when he looks rubbish and stops taking wickets. I doubt Bracewell would have taken 9 @ 33 in this series.

Could have been worse from 267-2; could have been better from 374-7.

Standard fare from NZ, really!

Well that ended fast once we got through that **** Finn.

Okay boys please bat well twice in a row. I'll keep the drapes open with an eye out for those flying pigs.

200 odd for 8 today is a good effort.

Ian Smith thinks NZ wins that session?

****ing senile old git.

They'd have been looking to declare between 450-500, so all that really mattered was the R/R. England's session by far.

I work in Wellington, and is has clouded over quite significantly recently. No threat of rain, and I doubt bad light will become an issue for a while, but I suspect the new ball might swing for England.

Not even Bracewell though.

Tarun Nethula or Jeetan Patel IMO. If we're going to serve up these wickets then the spinners are just as likely to fluke the wickets as Wagner or Bracewell.

Yeah, both Rutherford and Compton have had some excellent luck with the conditions in terms of their careers - even if Rutherford turns out terrible, he'll get Guptill-like lenience from the selectors, and Compton has pretty much booked his Ashes series, both on the flattest of flat wickets.
