Put me down for Dunedin. Backing a pair and a knee jerk dropping for Tom Latham.

Eyes not spreadsheets
I think we should do some kind of prediction thread for these next six tests between England and New Zealand. But with some really random questions as well as the standard most runs scored. Thoughts on interesting predictions to make?
Used to have the predictions league running, here, but numbers dwindled over time so it sort of faded out. If someone wants to revive it, I probably still have my spreadsheets I could pass on.

Number of times New Zealand will be 123 for 5?

Number of catches New Zealand will drop in the slips?

Number of times DoG will be rendered suicidal?

Howe's bets for the 1st test

England to have the highest opening partnership @1.55
Really, 1.55 feels like value here

Taylor to outscore KP @2.15
Pretty much just on form

Over 92.5 on Matt Prior (Player Performance, 1 point for a run, 10 for a catch, 25 for a stumping)
Prior's form suggests he could well be the top scoring bat for England in this Test from #7, especially given that NZ have no proper spinner and batting will likely get easier throughout the day.

Over 70.5 on Trent Boult (Player Performance, 1 point for a run, 10 of a catch, 20 for a wicket)

Has impressed me, and 4 wickets and a catch just doesn't seem like much to ask given he and Southee will probably have to take most of the wickets.

From everything you hear round the traps, this guy sounds like he's barely a shade or two under Ryder in the dickhead stakes. In the same ball park as a young Chris Cairns in his partying prime.

For whatever reason, a vast number of kiwi cricketers never break out of that club cricket culture.

At least it's Bracewell, and not Southee/Boult. I'm not sure we lose a hell of a lot from that tbh.
Yeah but it's Wagner replacing him which is a bit dire, plus the fourth bowler is also dire and the fifth bowler is Williamson. I think it's a significant loss.

As bad as he's been, I'd back Wagner to come close to Bracewell's level of performance from the last twelve months. Think DG is pushing 50 average-wise in that time period.
