Indeed. They talk about quicker pitches helping the really quick bowlers, but they help bowlers like Philander take genuine wickets more than anyone else because they suddenly find the edges carrying and the ball actually getting through off a good length.

You expect quality bowling from South Africa, it's a Test match. That's what it's about. You expect Test batsmen to handle a spell of sustained pressure better than this lot. They're up against a poor total and they've gone and matched it with their own poor effort. Prior's wasn't the only ****house dismissal in the top 7, there are at least two more without looking too hard. We all know Strauss is shot so we can forget him anyway, but the rest have just repeatedly given it away this series - and it's not like they've made 100+ when they've done it either.
