(vi) the striker is distracted by any noise or movement or in any other way while he is preparing to receive, or receiving a delivery. This shall apply whether the source of the distraction is within the game or outside it.

Would have to be that I guess. So harsh though.

Haha that's a joke. Should really be fired for that piece of umpiring.
It was quite appalling. Blatant southern hemisphere bias / complete incompetence, depending on your perspective. WAC.

Plus, it has to be said, Finn should really have sorted this out years ago. wtf have they been doing at Middlesex since he joined them?

Why that delivery though.
It looks like Biff had a word about it just before it happened. The ump probably was going to call dead ball next time it happened regardless. Just really unfortunate for him and England that the next time was a wicket taking delivery.

o please, nothing wrong with umpire descision, fin was obviously trying to distract the batsmen by knocking over the stumps.

From Cricinfo: Spike says: "I believe the umpire had spoken to him about this during the other two instances, and the umpire had already made up his mind that the next time this happens it would be a dead ball."

Trying really hard to be objective here but watching Finn and Jimmy squirm is quite joyous.

Again, 88ao, again.

He actually called dead ball right as he kicked the stumps over; it was a coincidence. He'd obviously just had enough of it.
in which case he was quite right imo. give the boy a chance, keeps doing it, stop him.

shouldnt matter if it was a wicket ball or not

it doesnt really matter, there is no way in hell anyone can stand and bat and say its not distracting when the bowler knocks the stumps over on every second ball. and according to the rules they just read on the commentary, the umpire was spot on calling it a dead ball. so fin has himself to blame for losing out on a vital wicket
