Then again, maybe he was out of sorts. I suspect that Jimmy's last over at Shiv went some way towards that particular dismissal.

Swann will, Didn't Anderson struggle last time he was over in the Republic while Smith scored big?
Didn't bowl that well over there, saying that he's a far improved bowler since then, add to that home conditions and how well he's dealt will left handers the last few years, I reckon he'll cause him problems.

Though I agree wholeheartedly, I won't be that surprised if such a comparison will become a fair thing in time. Broad is probably the most improved cricketer ever. For the last 2,5 years he has averaged 24 with the ball. And I can see his batting grow further as well.
Yeah, with him, Bresnan and Swann in the same side you could argue playing a 5th bowler and moving Prior to 6. certainly will happen if it is that trio for India to play Monty/AN Other spinner.

Shiv going means the game should be over. couple more tonight please.

Maybe we overdid the criticism of the England bats, has the pitch dried out so much it is difficult to play on?

In this winter batting sucked really bad, yet this obsession over 5 bowlers. Just because eng have great bowlers doesn't mean they have to play 5 of them.

India have no mystery spinner like Ajmal though, unless Harby regains his balls/finds his heart and joins in.

Anyway, that is all to come. As it is we look like winning this series and retaining the number 1 for the main event later in the summer, just a pain it only a 3 match series not a 4 or 5.

Three balls all around 77mph, wtf Bres. His action looks wrong to me, like he's injured.

Strange first over.

I think england have one more gear to go up later this summer. Bowling should get better. I am more worried about batting though, Trott's on a lean run. If he fails, I don't have confidence in england middle order to score consistently.

He bowled fine for 3 of the 4 Tests, back then he still had the occasional problem where he just wouldn't turn up for 1 Test per series which he seems to have gotten over now.
