So what does everyone think about Gabriel? would look to see him move the ball away from the right handers and that would really even out his arsenal, he can bowl nice and straight which is good and he can swing it in which is also good but all in all i think he done ok, didn't give much runs away which is a bonus for a pacer these days, tbh i thought he would fail but he's done much better than the last few pacers to debut under Gibbo i'e Pascal and Russell.
Needs to get his seam upright more often based on what I've seen.

how the **** do you play this ****. serious

you just hope you do not get bat on ball because theres absolutely no way you are going to be able to assert control
Speaking as a bowler the best response for a batsman is aggression. It can upset your rhythm and create a more defensive field. Plus at least the score is moving.

but you need a lot of skill to be able to do that. if you dont middle it arent you kind of just playing into the bowlers hands? as a bowler myself i'd be delighted to have someone like these lads attack me if i am getting the ball to do tricks like that. odds on they'll edge it unless they're ridiculously good.

Its a dangerous strategy but if it comes off the batsman is back on top. Stonewalling in most cases leads to a matter of time kinda situation

Something to work with, anyway. Fast enough and doesn't spray it. Easy approach to the wicket and doesn't seem to be straining to generate speed.

I'd like to see him stand up straighter in his delivery stride (which should help him develop one that leaves the right hander because he won't be canted to the off side so much) and bring his arm over fully from behind him. Seems to be bring it slightly around from his side almost.

Big strong boy too, which I always like to see in a quick.

That is a ****ing glorious shot.

EDIT: Another pretty piss over from Anderson, must be said. Ever since that over where he pulled out two magic balls he's bowled mostly poo

EDIT2: I don't mind a short ball barrage every now and then but this is way, way too early. Both these batsmen were dismissed to full, swinging deliveries first dig - have you forgotten that?

Barath and Powell love picking out the fielders. Score should be past 60 now. Lot of crap bowled.

The last few overs they've gone away from what their best at, don't think this is the time with a new ball to be dropping it short.

and bingo, why oh why did they change plans.

I could see why they tried it to set up of for the fuller ball but only every now and again.

77mph from Broad.

Brilliant set up and he fell for it.
