Sometimes, after doing the setup exactly as you said, the links still go to the home page. No sure why.

Also, stoked that you are taking the time to do these and Mike is a gun for editing the footage together and posting some on youtube.

I have a full 16 minute Daniel Flynn video on my laptop but Youtube won't let me upload it because of the 15 minute time limit. I might just delete some of Patel's deliveries. Yeah, sounds like the way to go.

What's your Youtube page/channel mate?

You can use the match filter a bit like that, also. Lets you select the batsmen you're interested in and only see them facing the two or three best bowlers in that match. Or see all the LBWs that Wagner's got this season in all forms, say -
http://highlights.blackcaps.co.nz/match-filter.aspx (have to be in, will otherwise redirect)

To deselect or multi-select the options it gives you, I think you have to hold down Ctrl and click them.

By 'links go to the homepage' you are getting into the 'all matches' page I take it. If not, when you're watching internationals, backspace the address bar to nothing and paste this in and hit enter if you need to -

Harry Boam.

3 or 4 years now playing for Wellington, but still only 21 or 22.

Despite being a handy allrounder, my assumption is that his long term future is his batting. But he can't seem to get above 7 or 8 in the batting order with the make up of the Wellington teams. With other more established allrounders Franklin, Elliott and Woodcock already higher up the order (deservedly). Now with Ronchi arriving the situation is even 'worse' for him. 13 innings and 6 not outs this season in Plunket Shield.

There seems to be a gaping hole in the CD middle order, I reckon a transfer would be a good move. Of course I have no idea about what other work, personal or study commitments he might have, but from a cricket POV I reckon he would be best served playing somewhere other than Wellington for the next few seasons.

Usually Otago is the place to go if you want a guaranteed FC spot, but with players fulfilling similar roles already there in Wells & Neesham I reckon CD would be the best chance.

But I guess it is good that there is enough depth that promising young players need to fight hard for a spot.

Anyone know how Andrew de Boorder has been going in club cricket?

He was captain of Auckland for the PIunket Shield back in Nov/Dec. He isn't usually selected for the white ball stuff (which is basically most of the bloody summer), then come the resumption of the Plunket Shield he is nowhere to be seen? I assume he has been dropped but perhaps he is injured? I see he had a rubbish Provincial A tournament so perhaps he is having a bad season?

But B Cachopa and Kitchen aren't setting the world on fire (22 and 25 average), neither is Parlane (ave 18) and neither was McIntosh (ave 14), although Tim has eventually been dropped.

It's Monro who has come in and succeded. Parlane and Kitchen got some good form and numbers in the latter part of the Ford Trophy and I guess justified their chances - but they haven't delivered in the Shield.

Direct all Howick Pakuranga-based form questions to me, sir.

Andy isn't injured, I've never known him to be injured. Keeps himself ridiculously fit - regularly is the fittest or nigh-on fittest in the Aces set-up along with Cachopa.

I think the change of season from four-day to one-day buggered him. He wasn't in great nick and then changed formats, played club stuff on dodgy wickets against sub-par bowling attacks then went to A tournament in shaky nick. Didn't score there, was dropped for four-day stuff in place of Parlane who was able to put himself in the shop window through List-A.

Did the same to TimMc, who was also dropped (but given a few more opportunities). Something needs to be done, the guys who aren't in the limited overs fold are at a massive disadvantage. So is it any wonder they're going towards changing approaches and techniques to make sure they're playing in all forms?

And in my own opinion, Andy has been treated poorly. He's a brilliant cricketer, a thinking cricketer who is probably too nice a guy and is easier to drop for senior heads etc even if he is the future (I presume at one stage they thought he was, they made him captain after all). He's also a smart guy who I presume will be lost to the game for bigger things in the world.

Thanks.

I usually have an annual rant on another forum about the structure of NZ's domestic season. McIntosh preparing for a test match with a month playing Saturday club cricket for Parnell etc ......

I don't think List A justifies an exclusive window anymore. Scatter it amongst the Plunket Shield season.
The 76 day gap in the First Class season is ridiculous.

As for A de Boorder, I like the looks of him and think NZC scheduling stunts his development. Would love to see him kick on. Anything stopping him joining his brother in Otago?

The scheduling absolutely plays havoc with a guy like him. And I agree on List-A. Something to be learned from English system - which has a window for T20 but schedules FC and 40-over (as it is over there now) throughout the season. Either that or have Ford Trophy straight away, from October.

Nothing stopping Andy going to Otago, he's a far more talented player than Darren Broom is for example. But he's also studying at Akl Uni and I can't see him desiring to put that on hold further to move provinces. Don't think it'll happen. Might give it one more push in Auckland then call it quits.

By stopping him, I did mean things like study or work.

You're only young once. He's only 23, a former International Youth captain and has a decent record at that level. The ironic thing is his List A record is actually pretty decent.

God, I hope NZC sort out their scheduling next year. But seeing as NZC has hitched our cart to the ongoing health of ODI cricket (co-hosting 2015 CWC), I unfortunately don't see them downgrading the Ford Trophy in the scheduling pecking order.

Sepaking of NZC scheduling stuffing up the season of those who specialise more in FC Cricket.

Astle v Nethula.

have been shoulder to shoulder stats-wise the last few seasons. But Nethula was in better form at the right time earlier this year when international selection finally came a legspinners way. But Astle has been knocking up good wicket-taking numbers in the latter part of the season (as he usually does).

I've been watching Astle's wickets since Kippax broke us into the video vault. It's uncanny how often he bowls towards the camera so you can't see how much spin he is getting.

But two rounds ago v CD. Albeit cleaning up the tail; the amount of in-drift Astle was getting as he picked up 3 wickets was impressive.

I've only watched his wickets, rather than watching his entire overs. A job for a rainy day .....

Haven't watched this clip yet but I take it you mean not much off the front foot?

Anyway we'd happily take an Usman and Australia may before long too. Lastly I think/hope Flynn will bring a better mindset than Khawaja, who looked a bit like a rabbit in the headlights last time he played us.

I didn't mean it in an entirely bad way; it just really stood out that they're really, really similar technically. They always have been really but it didn't click to me until I saw Flynn bat properly again.

The shorter they bowled to him in that YouTube innings the better he looked. When the bowlers bowled what would be considered a traditionally perfect length hitting the top of off, Flynn moved his feet beautifully and defended it on the back foot off offstump; even when the ball moved off that length he kept his bat in tight to his body rather than following it. When they dropped shorter than that he punished them with style on both sides of the wicket. He missed out on a lot of drive balls though and was genuinely beaten a couple of times by balls that would've been close to half volleys if he moved his front foot properly. All that is absolutely vintage Usman and again, that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially when you consider that Flynn is known a lot more for his mental strength than Khawaja is.

If you watch that innings - particularly the early part of it - with a close eye on his footwork you'll notice that he has a bit of a shuffling trigger movement and he's fine when he just moves each foot once, but on occasions he moves his front foot twice before the ball is even delivered and when that happens he doesn't move his feet again at all and gets stuck on fuller deliveries. Sometimes he doesn't do that second front foot trigger movement though and he plays it well; I'm sure it's something he's aware of.

The biggest difference obviously is that he doesn't have that wild backlift anymore that made him late on everything bowled at over 135km/hr. A back foot player who is weak against genuine pace isn't going to get anywhere in Test cricket as we saw in his first incarnation and it looks like he's gone some way to fixing that deficiency.
