*Official* English Football Season 2011-12

A lot of calling the title for ManU 10 games before the season ending going on in this thread.
Mainly from people who hate United TBF. Reckon there's a fair bit of collective hopeful resignation going on - if everyone gets depressed and assumes United will win the title again, they can be all the more pleased when it doesn't happen.

Think the title race is wide open to be honest. Is why I was so astounded at the images of the City fan crying after the Swansea defeat. 1 point behind the league leaders with 10 games left to play (one of which is them coming to play at your home ground) is hardly a bad position to be in.

Of course which is why I've already said Exeter are down.

But, I actually believe both. United's fixtures are looking fairly easy, it's hard to see how they'll drop a point in the next seven games, by then the fixture between the two teams may be irrelevant.

A pound coin was thrown onto the pitch at Ibrox. Police are trying to determine whether it was a missile or a takeover bid.

I was calling it 15 games ago tbf.

I personally don't think we'll win the title. A combination of United mental strength, their very easy run home and Sir Alex being a much better manager will (IMO) get them home. I, of course, hope beyond hope that it doesn't, but that's what I think. I think our only realy chance is to beat them when we play them, but in all honesty, if any team is going to beat us at home this season, can't you see it being them? Can't you just see them running out 3-1 winners from a Rooney double? I ****ing can. I've been watching it for the last 15 years of my ****ing life.

Oh and I think Arsenal will be a very very dangerous game for us as well and it's a terrible time for us to be facing them, with them rejuvenating their season and having the spuds falter, they have form and the illusion of something to play for.

Big game for Arsenal tonight, and next week against Everton as well. If they come out of these games with two wins then I'll be relatively confident they'll finish in the Champions League places. Apart from the City game in the next few weeks, their next 4 games after these two are against Villa, QPR, Wolves and Wigan. Should be looking for a maximum return on those and that should be enough to seal 3rd/4th place. Chelsea's run in is a lot harder than ours and we really ought to beat them at home as well.

Really think tonight is a huge match though, a win will put Spurs and Chelsea massively under pressure and will eliminate Newcastle as a threat for a CL position (which I doubt they will get anyway, but would be good mentally to get some distance between them in the table). A defeat, however, will come close to undoing a lot of the good progress made recently and make things very uncomfortable.

Also, shame we don't play City later on. If we'd already achieved 3rd/4th I wouldn't exactly be disheartened, shall we say, to see us lose the game against them. Not that I would ever wish defeat upon Arsenal of course, ahem.

Vermaelen you ***y beast

Harsh on Newcastle, for all the pressure Arsenal have had Krul's only had the one save of note to make.

Krul acting like a complete fanny at the end.

Loving van Persie's scrap with Krul.

That needs to be this team's van Nistelrooy moment.
Gary Neville punditry on the money with regards to this as well. Reckon he's the best pundit going tbh. Speaks a lot of sense and I hardly ever disagree with him, far less objectionable than he was as a player for sure. Also far better than that **** Andy Gray.
