Really? I don't remember any chances at all but then I was trying to watch both matches at once. Swansea dominated early on but I thought they'd tire at the end of the match and Citeh would pick them off, but it never really happened.
Yeah, don't think I phrased that too well tbh. They didn't really have many clear cut chances, but they had plenty of attempts on goal and a considerable amount of possession in the second half, from that they really ought to have done better, given the quality in their team.

Be that as it may, I wouldn't be surprised if at least 2 of them pick up 3 wins from their remaining games. I'd be surprised if one of the teams that goes down, particularly the one who finishes in 18th, doesn't have 32-35 points.

Edit: Obviously Wigan will finish with 40 and beat the drop, because they're great.

Dunno about that tbh. Would say all the teams in the relegation mire are still capable of getting 30 points. Doubt they will of course, but could happen.
Yeah - 30 points for safety was stretching it, I think. 35 should see teams home & dry though.

Hopefully QPR won't escape the drop though. Maybe that pov is simply down to Barton playing for them, but I do think they're criminally over-rated. Personally I lost all sympathy over yesterday's goal that wasn't when I saw Barton poncing around for ages, trying to take the corner from an inch outside the the designated area.

It used to bother me. Nowadays I simply find myself contemptuous of the other sides at the top who seem incapable of stringing enough results together to take the title instead. City have no bottle away from home, Spurs habitually lose the big games, etc, etc. Man Utd, love 'em or loathe 'em, do what needs to be done.
TBF, it's only these last two seasons they've had a crap side, the English clubs relative success in the Champions League, all of the "top 4" making the final at one point, showed that back then Fergie, Sourinho, Benitez and a wenger not obsessed with being stingy, built very good teams.

In fact I remember arguing this at the time, when people said it was annoying these teams dominated, that they were at least decent teams.

Yet these two years (apart from uniteds jammy run before being out-classed in the final), show that they've all fallen behind the rest of europe, and despite the hype our teams are second-rate. The top 2 are even struggling in the Leyland Daft of Europe, but they're the only teams to get that far in it too, showing a lack of depth as well.

Re: the Europa League you have to counter that with the fact Stoke and Spurs have sent out reserve teams for some matches.

Wasn't exclusive to just those two. The Europa League simply isn't worth a lot of teams bothering about because it's nowhere near as lucrative as their domestic leagues.

Poor old Wigan, would have said before the match that a point away to Norwich would not be a bad result, but sounds like they totally dominated today. Shame.

Nevermind, within two points of getting out of the relegation zone still. But they've a horrid, horrid run in to the end of the season now.

The "fat fan having a blub" is a standard of MOTD montages since way back, tbf.

Usually when his team's been relgated or jibbed a cup final tho. Would've thought being a Citeh fan had instilled a certain sangfroid when it came to gash results too.

Yes, no doubt that distracted the ref somewhat.

Also, didn't notice Hughes moaning about Cisse's goal being given.

In other news, has Walker got away with that kick from last night, can't see anything about it in the media. Surely a retrospective 3 match ban is in order?

Did acknowledge that they had been "fortunate" with the decision tbf.

I was expecting this result so much that I didn't even bother finding a stream and just listened to it on radio before falling asleep sometime in the first half. We will bottle this and it'll be typical City. Sounds like something I've said before haha.
