I reckon you look into stuff like that about ten times more than the selectors do. If O'Keefe didn't have the captaincy I reckon he'd have been 12th man at Hobart (for Hauritz) but would've played here anyway. Neither him nor Hauritz are as much of a problem as Brett Lee jnr though who is the worst batsman in the side and the sixth best bowler.

In a way it's hard to guess what they would've done under different circumstances because it's so hard to rationalise what they've done in these circumstances. There's no logic to it at all unless they're both unsure of Watson's potential bowling workload and also happen to think O'Keefe is a specialist batsman. AND.
