No. He would blocked for ages and then hit a few sixes before getting out. He has done a great job for Pakistan but he is finished now.

Obviously they would be rubbish, just like England without Cook.

In a way, this was a more impressive win than the first one, insofar as it wasn't all over at 40 for 4 or whatever Pakistan did last time around. Admirable composure from England in the field, which is good to see. Doesn't make us a great one-day side, but it sure beats losing. And the improvement in Finn is simply astonishing.

It reminds me of the posts after the Test series to the tune of "if we'd played much better in two of the Tests we'd would've won 2-1".

I'm not sure it is astonishing. Looking his county cricket since being dropped, the training regimes he's been on and the natural "growing into the frame" of a 21-year old beanpole, it's been quite a gradual curve.
