Happy with that actually. Thought we were the better team but we were really shaky at the back whenever we were put under pressure and in the end Everton had the better chances. Perfect illustration of why Samba is so important for us. We really lacked height and strength in the box and were extremely vulnerable from set pieces.

Bolton goal: Terrible defending by Liverpool, this, as Mark Davies latches on to a flick from David Ngog midway in the visitors half... and just keeps going. The Reds defence cannot close him down quickly enough to stop him getting his shot away, and he prods the ball past Pepe Reina to find the bottom corner of the net.

Did they really manage to allow Mark Davies to score from 40 yards out?
