Strictly speaking you're right. But it's essentially a leg break bowled with a flick of the fingers and no use of the wrist, which is what TumTum seemed to be describing, only better disguised, plus international players actually bowl it.

I've tried exactly that, and let me tell you that any half-decent batsman even at junior level can pick it from a mile away. Doesn't mean they can actually do anything with it (junior level), but it's not exactly subtle.
