So the spot came from the ball hitting the bat after ricocheting off the pad? That and it hit the pad first anyway - which I agree with, but can you be certain?

I'm pretty sure Dar was the onfield umpire who initially gave Bell out.Was Dar the one responsible for the ridiculous overturning of a caught behind off Ian Bell at last year's ashes.
ThisRegardless of what actually happened, there is doubt. This length of discussion is enough proof of that; ergo not out. Certainly not enough to overturn. Really poor from the third umpire.
Yeah agree with that. Most of the NZ batters seem to have real problems with playing the moving ball, lots of playing in front of the pads here. Not sure whether it's technique or nerves, though. It was tight and it was a 50/50 call. But if you want to not get out then don't get hit plumb in front.
Flicking, was a thin edge if any.So the spot came from the ball hitting the bat after ricocheting off the pad?
Agree, he should be banned from playing cricketThis is usually the sort of situation Taylor really struggles in, hence why I think he's too high at number 4 in ODI or Test cricket. Will be interesting to see how he goes.
Yep.Is it just me on does this surface seem relatively slow?
