Pitches for the Shield matches there are often even greener.

I definitely do prefer this to the pitches they usually serve up for the Tests here though, which are just generally slow and dire.

This pitch places the records of Butterworth, Maher and Faulkner into perspective.
The pitches they actually play on place those records under even further scrutiny given they're even greener a lot of the time. I'm pretty sure Butterworth actually averages less away from Hobart than he does in it though.

On the flip side, it puts some of Hughes's best Shield innings into perspective too.

Probably the only positive for NZ here is it looks like the typical NZ pitches of the early 2000s and doens't look like there's much bounce
