facepalm.jpgFox panned to a shot of all the Aussie WAGs over there last night, treating it like a working holiday no doubt.
Their presence made me somewhat miffed.
Fanie de Villiers made similar comment about the release points of all our quicks last night on radio. Was very interesting, though he was speaking more about why thy swing it a foot wide of off stump but not when they start it on middle.D Fleming said last night he think Cummins' approch is wrong, He loses momentum at the last moment due to the angle of approach. If he could straighten that up he might get a few more k's on his deliveries.
heh, same thing although you'd be hard-pressed to call a BSc.(Aviation) an 'academic' qualification.Only have a Windies tour which is in April, that's our only major committment I believe.
To his credit, Usman played County Cricket this year.
University educated, a pilot, a County cricket (rather than IPL) participant - he's a real 'goer' this man, really driven.

You sound like a journalist. And if you aren't, you should be one.Do you take your wife on a business trip? particularly after you've ****ed up an important business meeting (bowled out for 47)
Anyway, back to the cricket.
He gets what in spades? He certainly doesn't get movement of any kind in spades atm, seam or through the air.tbh, hitting the seam and getting bounce will serve Cummins far better than sideways movement on most pitches and he gets that in spades. Get the feeling he'll be a serial terror for lefties the world over for years.
Bounce, if I'm reading TC's post correctly. He gets what in spades? He certainly doesn't get movement of any kind in spades atm, seam or through the air.
I think what he means is he gets plenty of bounce, and if he made a some adjustments he'd hit the seam. For a bowler like Cummins, he doesn't need to swing it to be effective. He's more than likely still growing too. At his pace simple seam movement will be enough to undo batsmen, so he just needs to work on the seam position. He gets what in spades? Bounce. He got heaps, more than someone like Lee ever managed regularly. That and was moving the ball away off the seam from the lefties a lot, it's just harder to see because of the angle. He gets what in spades? He certainly doesn't get movement of any kind in spades atm, seam or through the air.
Yeah it isn't like the last pitch, that's for sure, but it isn't a road either. Think we'll see how much it is really offering when SA bowl.I think that was more to do with the pitch than anything else.

Oh right, yeh I'd agree with that.I think what he means is he gets plenty of bounce, and if he made a some adjustments he'd hit the seam. Something most people don't realise about young bowlers is that Cummins more than likely knows how to do this already, its just since he's so young he's still learning how to bowl with pace and accuracy first. Getting all these different aspects working together is the great challenge fast bowlers have to deal with, and it usually takes time to learn. He just needs to go out there and bowl. A lot.
