I would have Anderson, Broad and Tremlett as top quality. I don't think Bresnan is at the same quality level as the other three.
For me it's more how they operate as a unit. While Bresnan might not look top quality he gets the job done as his record shows. Combine that with Anderson and Broad and you have yourself a quality trio.

A controversial question, but would you consider Asif, Amir and Gul as top quality?

What about Steyn, Morkel and Tsotsobe?
Well since Tsotsobe got dropped...

Asif, Amir, Gul, Ajmal was still a work in progress, but it would have been ****ing intense if they (Amir Asif) weren't cheating. Asif's record despite being a **** **** is incredible.

Asif, Amir and Gul was top quality as a unit, but if you're talking about a team having three top quality quicks as you were before then Gul makes the answer no; he's fractionally above average to good.

Tsotsobe's not even Test standard IMO so that's a definite no there.

I think Bresnan is a very under rated bowler itbt.

Movement + pace + excellent accuracy = legend.

I would agree that Gul is a little decent but not quality. But he was doing a good job as a new ball bowler, so maybe there is still hope for him yet.

A quick who bowls close to 90mph, takes wickets cheaply and reasonably quickly, is accurate, gives very little away, hits the bat hard, has great stamina and can reverse it is a top drawer quick. The only reasons people don't seem to rate Bresnan are because of a) how he looks and b) because he spent the 2 years prior to his run in the Test side being a thoroughly average ODI bowler.

Yeah you should be hoping Dougeh develops into a Bresnan. Although I'm pretty sure we've had that conversation before. :p
Yeah we have. I said Dougeh reminds me heaps of Bresnan and you said "Yeah, they even got picked way before they were ready based on what they looked like they could be."

Agree he has all the right ingredients just needs to keep doing it to convince more people. In a way he's like Watson, you wouldn't see him as a frontline bowler but he always gets the job done and just happens to be the only bowler for us that consistently swings and reverse swings it.

I actually love Bresnan. As much strike power as an bowler going but has more stamina than most.

I've always liked him even before his Test debut. One of those guys that gets the job done. Throw him into our side and he'll be 2nd best or even equal with Harris.

Watson's a funny one, because against England he bowls exactly how you'd expect a 5th bowler to bowl - jogs in and trundles down some 80mph stuff that's reasonably accurate but pretty non-threatening. If the only time you saw him bowl was in the Ashes you wouldn't rate him any higher than Paul Collingwood with the ball.

Yet 4 times now, twice against Pakistan in England last year, against Sri Lanka in Galle and in this Test he's just come on and taken heaps of wickets in next to no time. And the funny thing is that I don't think his bowling looks much more threatening than when he plays against England.

It's funny because I didn't think Bresnan should have been picked in the Ashes. I thought he was just an ODI swing bowler, but how wrong I was. I honestly can't see Tremlett getting back in until there's an injury.

Anyone see Haddin today? I think the less said the better.
