benchmark00, what the hell happened in grade today. we've got a 188 run 10th wicket stand to get David Dawson a double ton. Maddinson got 225. There's a couple other big scores including a Cruickshank 144.......And Stuart Clark tonned up. What in god's name. Every bowler just not turn up?
what was the score? park cricket we scored a thousand today

Very happy about the start. First time this year I've actually wanted NSW to do well. I put money on them to win (or get 1st innings point if it's a draw) paying $1.56. I just thought against this attack in NSW after a few bad first innings performances it was a dead set certainty.

Christian is a handy cricketer, but I don't think he should be opening a State attack.

Is there an Australia A first class match this year? If there is one, who does everyone think should make it?

Aren't New Zealand not involved in one?

Oh cool, that's excellent. Assuming that no one currently in South Africa is available, who makes your Australia A team?

1. David Warner
2. Nic Maddinson
3. Aaron Finch
4. Callum Ferguson
5. Peter Forrest
6. Mitch Marsh
7. Matthew Wade
8. Luke Butterworth
9. Steve O'Keefe
10. Ben Cutting
11. Jayde Herrick/Nathan Coulter-Nile

Needs more Rorher.

Steve Smith or maybe Maxwell will play I'd say. Mitch Marsh will probably make it, but I just don't think he's top 6 (at least not yet). Finch may make it, but completely undeserved imho, and I wouldn't have Ferguson there either. Maddinson would also need to pull his finger out to get a go. Herrick is doing everything right so that's a good chance if he keeps performing.

Yeah Rohrer is in with a solid shout. I almost went for Quiney ahead of Finch, but figured Finch is more in the selectors radar, of course 1 minute after my post he gets bowled for 3 in today's game.

I nearly picked Maxwell as the sole spinner since it's in Brisbane, but opted in the end for O'Keefe. I couldn't be bothered picking Smith, I know what he offers.

Ferguson hasn't done much in Shield this year, but I believe he does deserve a chance in this type of match. Your right on Marsh not deserving a go at 6, but I'm confident he will make it.

I definitely haven't picked the best XI playing Shield Cricket or Bollinger, Katich, Rogers to name 3, would play.

Pretty hard to do from here due to the rate of injury, but...

1. Warner
2. Maddinson
3. ????
4. Ferguson
5. Forrest (?)
6. Moz/Marsh/Smith
7. Wade
8. O'Keefe (C)
9. Pattinson
10. Cutting
11. Bollinger

Butterworth as always unlucky. Could dump Moz/Smith/Marsh for him and move Wade/SOK up. Bollinger a pretty obvious pick I would have thought? hasn't got his cards marked like katich and rogers and north. 3 up for grabs 'cause of lynn's injury. i guess finch has a chance but i dunno know he's not doing anything currently to suggest he deserves it

actually jokingly giving SOK the C made me realise White might get a spot, for captaincy reasons

NSW also has a match against NZ so I dunno know that might change things eg they don't consider moz and sok or something

edit Bailey! He can fill the C void and middle order spot.

Looks like Maddinson's luck is in today. Just had a return catch dropped and has had a few edges go through the slips. Good time to cash in big Nic.

Wade has saved the Vics bacon with a 50 also. Should go on to win from here, but they were in all sorts early.
